I can NOT believe that our city is allowing the Alabama Thrift Store to move into our downtown historical district!Vestavia had the good sense to keep tis business out of their city...I seriously can't see why Trussville is going along with this! All we need is this type of business in our area.Haven't ANY of our council EVER visited one of these stores????Though Tim Alvis, chief executive, would have us believe his business will be good for our community ,do your homework BEFORE you fall for this!VISIT the others stores....look around inside, notice the employess, the customers, the cars in the parking lot ...and NOTICE the people walking around outside peering into cars and loitering.Jobs WON'T be brought to Trussville, the employess of this company are minimum wage workers, adults, from outside our area.

Our crime will increase, our historical district will be blighted, and traffic increased to a business that does NOT belong in our city!

STAND UP....before its too late!

I see from your name that your not from Trussville. I've lived in Trussville for the past 13 years. I live in one of the higher class subdivisions. I also have shopped at "America's Thrift Store" many times. I don't have a problem parking my Lexus in their parking lot. I've never had a problem while I was at the one in Huffman. I've never had anyone approach me. I've never seen anyone look in anyone else's windows. They are in a retail business just like any other business. It just happens to be a thrift store. There is a Dollar Tree and Dollar General in Trussville. And the Dollar General is in the historic downtown area. All I have to say is I'm embarassed by your post......

WOW I have lived in Trussville for about 8 years and it really surprises me that people judge people like they do it is a store that helps battered women and children.I have been to thrift stores as well and have never had a problem with someone looking into my car or seen anyone looking into anyone else's car.All it is Trussville is wanting to be bigger and better look they have there own school system and they are able to pick and choose who goes to it if you dont beleave me look at there zoning if you dont live in a certain kind of home your not welcomed its all about image and making themselves look better.I can say i cant beleave people are so quick to look down on people who are less fortunate.how much do you think sonic pays or dollar general? why are you not complaining about those people according to you all people who are not lawyers or doctors are less than man how narrow minded you are.God forbid someone knock you off your pedistool you seem to be on looking down on people like that SHAME ON YOU!

My family and myself lived in Trussville my whole life and I am 35 years of age. My family help build Trussvile. I moved from there for the same reason cindy k pointed out, that it has become a pool for people that think that they have the right judge others. Its sad to see my home town turn into a toilet that no one can flush. In case no one has noticed Trussville has drugs, rape, prostution, robbery, theft, murder. should I go on?. Because I can. Trussville has gotten to big for thier pants, and they need to see the people not the image of people. As for Cindy K, Please get a education and understand that not all women get to sit at home stuffing thier faces with cheese puffs while thier husband works so they can pass jugdement. So think about it people. Crime is everywhere.
