Jun 20, 2013 Full story: Cape Cod Times 30

In the long, dark shadow of the Newtown, Conn., school shooting, state legislators held a public hearing at Cape Cod Community College on Wednesday to take testimony on more than 50 pending bills related to gun safety.

Yup. No way all parents who lose kids to violence all feel like there should be no 2nd amendment. They ignore the intelligent reasonable parents who keep their tragedy personal and don't need pseudo-support from people who really don't care and government that just has an agenda to script out. Any parent who saw the bigger picture would not use the tragedy in that way

How dare they insist that gun sellers check to make sure the people they sell deadly weapons to first pass a background check to make sure they aren't felons or mentally ill!

It takes ten or fifteen minutes, and sometimes you have to take a fifty foot stroll to another counter, we all know what an intrusion ten minutes can be when these parents- only thing they lost is a child- and many of these parents in had other children, what are the crying about if they lose just one!!!!!

Notice, the background bull has failed. Move on, nothing to see here. Why are felons and mentally ill loose on the streets in the first place? Oh that's right, you think they should have a safe work environment so they can enter the system but continue to be repeat offenders. Over 70% of criminals in jail will re offend even if they have a record or it is illegal to commit more crimes and many will use weapons they are not allowed by law to have. Notice that armed victims cut down on the repeat offender problem.

We'd be safer with all citizens armed, and no background checks made, than right now with a large number of complacent sheeple choosing to keep themselves unarmed even in light of criminals arming themselves, and even with current background checks (used by government to secretly keep tabs on good citizens, in order to see how many have guns the government will tyrannical steal sometime in the future), which aren't that effective to begin with. Criminals can get their guns on the black market quite easily; many people pass criminal background checks yet, then go on rampages for one reason or another at certain times, anyway; or they'll take the guns from those [related to them] who passed background checks.

So, again, the only TRUE and LOGICAL solution is: every person arm themselves and train for their own safety.

The only reason why we see these stupid suggestions for background checks, limiting magazine capacity, banning certain types of firearms from all citizens, etc. is that the government doesn't like us having them to protect our life and liberty from criminals and tyrants. Their useful-idiot pawns just repeat these their wants of magazine capacity limits, banning certain guns, etc. because they're emotionally lulled and brainwashed into trusting the fascist governments who sweet-talk them into being so.

Of course these simpletons don't mind the government fascistically infringing upon our rights like this: those simpletons choose not to arm themselves, so this is their selfish idiocy at work, not caring for others' rights... until *their* rights start getting trampled on, then they'll sing a different tune, indeed.

They're too dimwitted to understand that: we must stand up for everyone's rights, even if we believe others are using those rights for something 'weird', we must still back them up on their right to do it, until they use that right to infringe upon someone elses right, of course.

Until all people think this way, we'll have this war continue.

If they're scared so much about "mentally ill" (subjective) or ex-cons getting ahould of firearms then why did the government let these people loose on the streets to begin with?

The government knows that if criminals or "mentally ill" (subjective) truly want to get a gun to commit crimes, those two groups will still get them on the black market, or steal them from someone else; or, they'll get a knife and start silently killing people as well.

So whose fault is it, truly, that this is happening? The incompetent (or criminal) government, of course! Whose fault is it for not arming themselves in public or in their home for protection? Those complacent, brainwashed, fantasy-land living people, of course!

So stop trying to "fix" this problem with targeting every other good citizen out there. It's YOUR fault. It's THE GOVERNMENTS' fault... simpleton.

It's not against the law to be mentally ill and to walk the streets.

Many of the mentally ill are veterans- people who have served their country.

Not something you would know anything about- the serving the country part.

The mentally ill are on the streets largely because Congress doesn't want to may for their treatment.

Jails are cheaper, it seems.

No, spooge breath.

The fault would be on the people who sell the weapons.

I myself would prefer that anyone selling to someone who is not legally allowed to own a firearm is put in jail.

The excuse "I didn't know" would be something the courtroom could laugh about.

No background check, just a year in jail on a weapons charge which would curb future sales since you'd no longer be allowed to own firearms again.

[QUOTE who="Anti-Fascism" Criminals can get their guns on the black market quite easily[/QUOTE]

They get them from people like you who don't have a qualms about selling weapons to felons and only get angry when Americans insist you need to do background checks.

Background bills are making their way through the individual states, and will be made again in the House.

As many times as it takes.

You better unload your firearms while you still can.

They don't.

They cut down on the wife and kids problem.

ORANGE ( CBSLA.com )— Police identified Friday the woman who was fatally shot in a domestic dispute outside of an apartment she shared with her alleged domestic partner.

According to Orange police, 35-year-old Jessica Gonzales shot and killed Jennifer Roberta Solorio, 44, Thursday afternoon in the 2000 block of E. Palmyra Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they found Solorio bleeding on a sidewalk near the apartment complex. She was transported to a local hospital where she died, officials said.

Neighbors said the Gonzales fired four shots at her partner.

“Jessica and Jennifer have been together 13 years and Jennifer had a friend over for like, two days. She thought that she was cheating on her,” neighbor Edgar Lopez said.

Ah, I see.

So veterans have "no right" to defend themselves [with guns] now, because they're deemed so-called "mentally ill" (subjective)?

How pathetic. How wrong. How tyrannical. How criminal!

If everyone had guns, then other guns falling into people looking to commit crimes wouldn't matter much because then they'd think twice about committing crimes, seeing as how everyone has guns to shoot them down now!

Criminals almost always target the weak and defenseless - thus having people disarmed, it gives the thug that advantage to be of 'superior power' in the struggle. This makes the criminals confident in their actions and, therefore, crime rises because of this, overall.

Come back when you've a brain that works well.

I won't hold my breath for that one though.

Really, and you can prove this with factual statistics? Not some stupid, biased poll which nitpicked the voters? lol!

I've no worries concerning the criminal aspect, as I'm not a criminal. But the government making another excuse to keep tabs on gun owners, this is what they're going to get away with and they know it's not about attempting to prevent guns from falling into criminals hands.

Look at what the incompetent, criminal federal government did recently, giving thousands of guns to Mexican drug cartels! Oh yeah, they're *really* worried about guns falling into criminals' hands! Suuureee! Dimwit.

You're one of the clueless ones who believe that's what it's about though.

This is the only nickname I've used on the Guns Forum on Topix. You can stop believing I'm using multiple names now but, really, it'd not matter if this were true, I'm still disproving all of your misled opinions in every debate.
