I wasn't saying they were. Generally, the people who want laws like this really want all smoking outlawed. Instead of being straightforward about it, they trump up many laws instead to create death by a thousand cuts.(ironic analogy, no?)

IMO, the current approach by anti-smokers makes it an easier pill for the politicians whose help the AS factions require.

The politician gets their name in the paper as doing something "for the children" or "public health", while not angering people too much, nor forfeiting the enormous tax revenue that tobacco sales generate.
