Thanks BPT, youíre remarks are pretty much on point also, sometimes I just like to argue.
Maybe weíve just had different experiences living in Bpt. I lived on Noble near Beardsley Park section (which was/is considered one of the better sections), and Iíve been beat up, mugged, countless bikes stolen, house robbed, and even a victim of a home invasion were I was shot at (thank God the punk missed)........
Holy Shit! Shot at during a home invasion?!?!?! WTF? I bet you're packin' after that experience. And I don't mean suitcases.

Most dangerous spot: 5th street. Then there are many spots tied for second place.

When you realize that liberals created these types of people in the first place, it REALLY pisses you off....

I have friends living there that I visit and nothing has ever happened to me or my friends. Those "people" on the corners are selling their "stuff" and its not my biz so I keep it moving. They dont bother me and I dont bother them. I was raised in the projects and am comfortable going anywhere in the 'Port. Its a mentallity issue. Sorry Del you had terrible experiences.

I was born and raised in BPT. I lived near the intersection of Park and North. I left when I was 19 to join the military. I've driven through a few times. I cannot believe it has actually gotten worse. How is that possible. Glad I left Connecticut in the dust. If you can afford to, get the hell out. There's a lot better places to live.

Welcome to African jungle bridgeport after all this is a free country for humans and the so called American blacks mutants of bridgeport and other cities of the u.s . But it's a government system designed to keep a certain race that way in order to limit the American business competition in a certain group hand surely not the colored.

One individual's comment does not reflect the level of intelligence of the entire population in Bridgeport. You assuming that it does, is only a reflection of how ignorant you are. Not to mention the person who wrote the comment might have done so quickly; therefore not catching a typo or not really thinking that a small minded person would review their comment for spelling and grammatical errors.

I think people are basing their (very low) opinion of Bridgeport on news reports and firsthand experience and not on the grammar in people's posts on Topix.

Bridgeport became a cesspool of crime when a certain race, like a bad disease, decided to settle and spread out. It happened over many years but the decay was inevitable once each and every neighborhood became infested with them. It used to be a beautiful city where you could walk anywhere, with the exception of Stratford and Connecticut Avenues, day or night. I know because I grew up there and watched it change into a slum city. They tried Arenas, they tried casinos, and anything the politicians could think of to bring the shine back to Bpt. but it was useless. The disease had already left a lasting impression of the city in many people's minds. Many of the inhabitants tried to make good where they settled but the main disease unfortunately will always be there.

OK first Don't let anyone tell you Bridgeport is a safe place cause I live on the east side and I hear gun shots every night I know many people who have been robbed. And I know many people who have been killed. I also know people who do the robbing and killing. If you have the money to live some we're else. Do your self a favor and live in the suburban towns that surround like Stratford or trumbell where instead of abandoned factory's you get a giant mall

If you really do know who is doing some of the robbing and killing you should let the cops know in private. That's some serious stuff.

Does that happen or does it not happen? Face what 'Travis' is saying and respond to it directly. There have been 10 murders in Bridgeport in 2016 and none in surrounding towns.

There have been 2 or 3 on capitol ave in the last year, and another 2 almost on capitol ave. I was thinking about that yesterday as I drove to the DMV. There have been several in the vicinity of Arctic Street and William Street. There was one on Brooks Street. Much of the town is dangerous.

I was born and raised in Bpt. Back in the sixties we had a ball in the city, although we were aware of the few places you really did not walk into. I lived in the north end in a pretty good neighborhood and we mainly stayed on that end of town, but we used to like to drive down main st. to Seaside park. Even saw a Hendrix concert when they built that white elephant tent theater in the round. Played ball for a peurto rican and all black vfw 9991 team. Many fans came to watch these games that were played at the Dicky Thompson park on Newfield Av and never had problem one. I knew that Bpt had bad areas, and when I was with my black buddies in the dregs of Seaview av we used to have a blast. I really miss those days, and it's ashamed that the city of my youth has gotten worse rather than better. Thank God I was there when you could still have fun! Politics! One of the most corrupt cities in the country. We blame the people when it's always been the politicians and police. Bring back Jasper Mclevy from the dead.
