I would say to you that unless you are perfect, without flaws and have been lucky enough to have raised flawless children that have not given you a moment of heartache, keep preaching. If you stayed 2 steps ahead of them and they still made mistakes, that's okay too. But if your kids keep making mistakes and you take a back seat, stay there and quit judging others.

5 years later.......I am doing research on children who behave this way. It is true that many turn out to be adults that will act out in a similar way later in life. What makes this particular case interesting is that one of the accused has a family member who is currently doing a 5 year sentence for attempting to engage in sexual activity with a 15 year old girl. As I dug deeper into the histrionics of this family I found that the behavior is pervasive. It would have been much better to examine the female counselor and perhaps follow through with therapy until she reached the age of 22. Money, especially like that in and around Fairfield County, can hide some very terrifying behavior but when it surfaces, people get hurt. There is help out there.
