The simple truth is Police Officers must always adhere to a higher standard or their integrity and trust by the people will be compromised.

This guy another winner who serves the public?????
Another idiot clown who let the dog in this dept????
They do all this screening to hire a cop and stop the good guys from getting on the force only to let bums try to serve and protect based on favoritism and family ties.
Who helped this psycho get a police job?????
But this guy got caught FIRE THIS CLOWN IMMEDIATELY!!!!!!
I totally agree. If we look into these people more than what they are doing than stupid things like this wouldn't occur. They throwing anybody on the force and expect the public trust them. Not me. I don't trust them.

Unfortunately, young people do foolish things no matter what profession they are in. It must have been something to do with his 23 year old hormones.I personally respect all police officers and thank God they are there when we need them. It takes a lot of courage to answer a 911 call in todays society of drugs amd crime and with the amount of mental illness in our country. The police never know what will await them at a crime scene, and every day they are putting their lives on the line for the public. The job is a lot more dangerous than a stop at Dunkin Donuts to stay awake for a night shift. Keep up the good work, and I thank the Officers of the law for being there.

Did he or did he not take an oath to up hold the law not break it? Kick this guy's ass off the force. Law enforcement does not need a preditor lurking in the dark when they are the ones who are there to protect us. To all of the honest men and women in blue keep up the good work and stay safe.

1) The sexual assault ALLEGEDLY occurred in 2006, about two years before he was on the force (according to a number of other newspapers).

2) He must have taken a polygraph to have been hired, so if it passed that then maybe it was because he didn't believe he did anything wrong.

3) Kick him off the force? Fire him immediately? What happened to a guy having his day in court? Are we going to convict him based on a five paragraph article in the ConnPost?

If the courts find him guilty then fire him AND give him some jail time. Until then let's all just wait to see how this pays out.

Jeez I bet you people get all in arms when a cop pulls you over for "no reason", but the moment one of them gets jammed up you want to burn them at the stake.

What every happened to "Innocent until Proven Guilty" in a court of law? Everyone deserves this right, up to and including police officers. We are only getting a portion of the story from the paper and I am sure there is more to it than meets the eye, good or bad!

When it's a town or city other than Bpt, there's ALWAYS an excuse for the same behavior that occurs in Bpt as though there aren't decent people in Bpt! I especially love the comment "He's Young"! LMAO!!

How disgraceful and he's supposed to be protecting us citizens from people like him. I actually went to school with this kid and he came from a family that always had their nose's in the air and thought they were better than everyone. Ha guess not...definetly kicked you and your family in the a**.

It'd be nice if the newspapers would give more of the facts, rather than vague inklings of what they think they know.

Did it, or did it not happen before he became a cop?

If the whole situation occurred while he was in school? Fine, we all do dumb things when we're in college and it can be forgivable, depending on the specific circumstances.

If this happened in the past year of being an officer of the law... shame on him for being so foolish. I hope that it haunts him for the rest of his life.

I agree with the comment from 'Trumbull Resident' written above. I too have known this family in Trumbull for years. They should now think twice about casting stones at others. Certainly a good wake up call to think they are not the perfect little family they wanted everyone to believe....
