I also busted my ass working two jobs and going to college at night, no help from anyone and my family couldn't afford tuition. I got no freebies from anyone, but it paid off in the end, even though it took me 7 years to get a BA, I have no regrets.

I could not afford to go to HCC without grants and students loans. My family is very proud that I graduated in 1981 majoring in Accounting.

Good Morning America. How are you? Arlo and I are your native sons, and Tippy is your favorite native cat.

Belated Happy New Year..Yes You know it appears doing things the right way is punishable...If I or my girls were baby mommas college or nursing school + Day care and Books, uniforms etc etc would have been paid for on our tax $$$. When you do things the right way well You are on your own. Just doesn't seem right!
Up until two years ago..The same Government that said a (in divorce)father no longer had to pay child support after age 18...YET that same law counted a father's income against the ability to obtain student loans, Pell grants etc until a child is 24 unless they had a baby out of wedlock...How messed up is that? That is why I fought to change those freaken laws for over 11 years! NOW the wayward parent will have to pay 1/2 of college and support while in college...Pays to fight the fight to help others not have to struggle the way we had..

There are many parents who cannot sent their children to college, such as in my case.

So where did you end up getting your Major? HCC only offers Associate degrees but most of the credits are transferable towards your Bachelor's degree at a university.

Why did someone put those judge its on my post? I'm not nuts, clueless or wrong, I'm spot on. Sorry if whoever it is doesn't agree with me, but what I posted is true. Anyone who really has a Bachelor's degree with a major in anything knows I'm right, so why the hating?

You are correct, I wrote many times that I received a Associate Degree in 1981. Never could afford two more years of college. Enjoy your nuts.

Looks like you're the hater. You actually wrote you majored in accounting which prompted me to ask where you got it after going to HCC. No need to be so testy. Since you appear to be somewhat disgruntled by that, I can't help but point out that if you have an Associates in anything, you might want to call yourself American (adjective) rather than America (noun), which is the country. I believe HCC has classes in proper English.
