Albanians have been in this country since 1930. It just so happens that a lot of old time mobsters we thought were Italian were in fact Albanian. So the correlation is that they have been around Italians and there food for a very long time. An also there are Albanians who are and live in Italy since the 1400's. JUstAfAct, read more and less TV you might just learn some thing. An the whole muslim thing, Well thats just stupid. Albanians arent all muslim and they are deffenetly not the same brian washed idea of a muslim you may think is the norm. So enjoy yummy..

Enough with the Albanians already! I'm Italian and I know a few Albanians. They are NUTS! They are loyal as long as you are on their right side. Many are Orthodox Christians.

As for Italian, Albanian, food -whatever. It's all cooked by kitchen boys from the underground economy, mostly hispanics. It's like the chinese Italian chefs in Canada.

You want authentic Italian, you need to go to little Italy, and even there is suspect. You need to go to Italy.

IT has little to do with geographics. They enter illegally into Italy for a better life just like the illegals here and start doing menial jobs like kitchen work. Here they learn how to cook Italian food and the first chance they get they migrate here. The Italians have the same problem with Albanians,Romanians, etc. that we have with people from latin america. True Italians who have family/visit know this.

Remedy - stay home and cook your own darn food. It's a free country, don't eat out if you don't like unhealthy but tasty food.

Robotical dinwits who parrot the food police really get on my nerves. "Duhh, it's not healthy because it uses butter". I gotta newsflash for you - living is unhealthy because whiler you are doing it, you are actually dying!

Since when did you have to be Italian to make Italian food? I enjoy Asian food- I'm not Asian, does that mean I shouldn't be eating Asian food? I'm honestly sad to even be posting as 99% of the above posts are obviously coming from ignorant, racist individuals.
I'll eat at any restaurant owned by anyone regardless of their religion or nationality- as long as they make good food and have good service.
And since when do we judge restaurant quality by the nationality or religion of the owners?
ABSOLUTELY obsurd!! Judge by the quality of the food!
Also, the culinery schools in this country- you don't have to be Italian to specialize in Italian cuisine! Most if not all of the top restaurants in this country have actual Chefs (which is the case of spasi, barca, prespa, etc) and guess what.. they are AMERICAN or French. Who the heck cares??

Yikes... so many of you seem like truly arrogant jerks. So for those of you who are bashing immigrants and are making other snide comments heres my advice; get over yourselves... and just give your critique on the food, not on your racial views. Thanks.

Nothing wrong with that. My grandfather was off-the-boat Italian and yet unless you're in East Hartford or the Bonx, most of the best Italian food is made by Greeks or Albanians. The best pizza in town, imnsho, is from Mykonos.
That's greek pie, but please don't call it "pizza".

The phony, muslim Albanian-owned Italian restaurants don't even have real Italian names associated with them (except Castello and Della Francesca). All those names, Barca, Spasi, Prespa, Rraci are Albanian in nature.
Their food is not real Italian food, but rather, Nouveau Italian. Anyone can make it...even you.
And, lots of muslim Albanians in this country send money back home to Kosovo, Macedonia, etc.(former Yugoslavia) to fund the KLA (the Albanian terrorist organization, which is on the U.S. State Department's list of terrorist organizations).
..You my friend are a hater,I have been a loyal customer for 10 years, you wouldn't know good food if it hit you in the head...Check your stats ,because your way off...A bit pathetic, maybe a little jealous....Don't knock it until you have sampled what a real classy joint is...,and again check your facts the albanians/italians are integrated, the same breed...same integrity, same beliefs....prejudice hater,,,this is America not the boonies...IDIOT...buy a clue...

First of all, any negative comments come from the competition. I, yes I, who has dined in many fine restaurants throughout the world, can only describe Della Francesca as a restaurant that rates beyond anyone else's expectations. Save your money and your time if you're looking for the common everyday Italian cuisine. First of all, they don't belong in the location they are. Go to your local Pizza place. Their food is by far some of the finest food that you will experience. I challenge anyone with any class that has eaten better Italian food, to e-mail me at: [email protected] and name the place and the time, and I'll be there. Just come with an open mind and a appetite. It doesn't get better than this. The rest, go to Prespa's, Spazi's and whoever turns you on. But don't come here. You don't know any better.

At least when you go into a Greek restaurant, you know they are Greeks who are running the place.
I'm tired of Albanians passing themselves off as Italian with made-up Italian-sounding names like Barca's "Tony Ramadani" (Ramadani = Ramadan + i)- again, they're all Muslim.
I swear, everytime you think you have read something so stupid, someone comes along and tops it with something even more stupid. Go to AOL city search best and look up the top 10 greek restuarants, it will surprise you to know that the number one restuarant is Taverna kyclades and YES, it is owned by an Albanian. He is packed every single day with a line of people waiting to get in. Astoria, Queens is packed with Greek restuarants owned by greeks but this one blows them away by far because its excellent. To this day, I never heard of anyone asking him if he's Greek born because they would not have eaten there if he was Albanian. Only retarded people would do something like that. Are you Authentic Greek? Are you a Muslim? Can I see your voter registration card? If you dont like that it is an Albanian that is the owner of the restuarant who also happens to be successful, Guess what?? DON'T EAT THERE. Stick to your healthy food like Domino's, Taco Bell & Papa John's. This is America, if you decide to eat there, it's by choice not FORCE.
I can speak for myself, I am Albanian/American and this may shock you too I am catholic.

If you think that's bad - I went to Burger King the other day and it was owned by a lowly Duke - so i walked out and went to McDonalds, and not an Irishman in sight. What is the world coming to ?
