U R Correct, Ortexis does not deserve 25 years. He deserves the death penalty. Why should he be allowed to breathe when he took the life of a person in cold blood with no remorse. People like Ortexis, should be put on public display and stoned to death.

its refreshing to know that they are going to finally get the right person for this crime because the evidence to prove him innocent has finally surfaced , poice officers that lied to put a troubled child behind bars will also be punished i dont believe innocent ppl deserve to be in jail but by all means if they are guilty then pay the time - but his innocence will set him free goodluck tex

Prisons are filled with people saying they are innocent, good boys, boys that loved their mothers, etc. Some of you worry about him "rotting in jail". What about the man he killed? He'll be "rotting", really rotting 6' under forever.
Can't wait for the rantings of racial bias, cops framed him, etc.
Face it you idiots. He did the crime let him do the time. In my opinion all 25 years is still too short.
For once in your miserable lives think about someone other than yourselves. Try, really try, thinking about the kids that will have to grow up without their father thanks to shithead Ramos.
I'm not a "cold hearted fuck" as one of you so eloquently put it. I'm a realist. Site all the reasons for killing someone. The LAW says it's wrong. That's what the courts are for. If you don't like it go back to PR or wherever you came from. Oh yeah, one last thing. Because of Ramos the relatives of the deceased can now apply for welfare, food stamps, etc. Probably like the rest of you. I guess that's one thing they can thank Ramos for. Right?

Hello all who commented on this post and all who will. I'm Ortexis' or, as I know him, Orty's little sister. It's been over 10 years since he was sentenced. I was around 5 then and living with my father in another state (we share the same mother), I'm 16 right now which was how old he was when he was forced to have his life halted, ruined really. I know the difference between right and wrong. I know taking another's life is wrong, but I have no doubt that my brother did not do what he was found guilty of. Evidence is evidence but faith is faith and trust is trust as well. We all have to decide what we want to believe from the knowledge we have of the subject. New evidence that has surfaced will hopefully be enough to strongly support his innocence. My brother's life is never going to be the same after this experience, he'll have a brand on him for the rest of his life, but I know he'll come out of it stronger. I hope that the victim's family have had peace and luck through their tragedy, but I hope that the real killer will eventually come to light. Thank you for your time reading this.

It is easy to say he does not deserve the sentence as long as the victim is not someone you love. If it was you would want him to get the maximum sentence.

I presume there was plenty of physical evidence presented in court. I hope so.
The murder happened in 2004, prosecuted in 2006. That's about as early a topic as we have on here, no?
