Guns are a disease in the USA. A disease that blinds many about how more guns will not stop shootings. I mean DUH there have been how many shooting already after Newtown and there weren't any citizens or gunners there to come to the rescue.

So we need to let the bad guys have all of the guns and the honest people have no way to defend their selves? Brilliant!!!

Right?? Might as well put up a sign on your lawn: "We are a gun free household." See how long it takes before you get robbed or worse.

"When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns."

When are you people going to get this???

When only the police and the military have guns, THAT'S a "police state." Remember, the police CANNOT "protect" you, they can only show up after something has already happened.

That could be because they didn't have guns, because people like you are creating a gun-averse law-abiding culture. It is a fact that in areas were people legally carry, it is a deterrent. There are many cultures around the world where guns are common and gun murders are low. Too bad you liberals have made our culture so degenerate.

I don't think I'd have a problem with that. Responsible gun ownership isn't something that should be hidden. Of course, peoples' privacy should be respected, which isn't something that the criminal element cares about anyway. You have to be registered and fingerprinted to get a carry permit anyway, so it's already a matter of public record.

I agree 100%. All humans should have the option to arm themselves, but blacks need to be kept away from firearms at all costs. Also, if we were to make an example of black criminals by stringing them up from oak trees, perhaps these animals would think twice before raping, stealing, killing, and engaging in various other assorted jaboonery.

People who have the following types of valuables should be published:

Jewels

Drugs, legal and illegal

Very expensive automobiles

Anything that can be pawned for profit

Gun collections not just registered guns

Gold and Silver

Electronics

If you have a safe containing valuables, where it is located AND the combination to the safe

==========

Actually it's none of Governments business what anyone owns. IF Government knows what people own that info is NOT public information. Government shall NOT reveal what people own on their property or concealed in their vehicles.

It's called "Private Property" for that reason.

"Public Property" is owned by the public and is open to the public for their inspection. BTW the Government owns NOTHING. Everything the Government controls is Public Property, owned by the taxpayers.

your response is a bit extreme. of course the gov't has no right to know what people own, but that WAS NOT the question...... you can get public information on:
drivers license info
ANY real estate transaction
criminal history
convictions
civil lawsuits and results
if you open a business
etc etc

so why not know if your neighbor has a gun?
gun owners have the right to own a gun so no one will eff with them or their property so why not tell all don't eff with me......

IMHO ALL infrmation the Government has should be private EXCEPT criminal proceedings.

As far as guns go you are much safer if a killer does not know if you are armed or not. Think about it, if you have an alarm system in your house, will it be more effective if a burgler knows about it or not?

Times up: it will be more effective if the burgler does not know you have an alarm system. How can that be, well if he knows it's there he knows he must defeat it whereas if he doesn't know what he's up against he doesn't know what to look out for and might trigger an alarm.

Same with guns, if a burgler knows there is gun in a house he may just go to the next house down the street, even criminals arn't dumb.

Of course if he really wants to rob an occupied house with a gunowner living there he is stupid but dangerous and knowing there is a gun in the house he then knows to be careful and make a move when the gun owner is alseep or in the shower or swimming in the pool etc.

Of course if everyone in the counties on the interactive map showing all gun owners haveing guns went out and aquired a gun permit then every residence would be identified as haveing a gun and the map would be pointless, wouldn't it?

What the Joural did was exactly that. By defeult when you publicize who has guns you also identify who doesn't have a gun, correct? Criminals now know exactly which houses are "gun free zones".

So right now any criminal who cares knows which houses are not armed.

BTW, once a criminal knows there is no gun in the house all they need is a knife to control the residents. Once controlled they can rob, rape, pilferage etc all they want.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you, and thank you, we will. We're locked and loaded, you see. Not that we have an arsenal, but we do have protection. Enough and in places that are easily reachable. We are licensed, and also card-carrying members of the NRA.

Why are you willing to give the criminals a shopping list of which houses have guns in them and which ones don't??

What about women who have obtained a gun for their own protection and are in hiding from an abusive spouses or boyfriends?? Would you be willing to publish their whereabouts so the ex's can now find them?(this actually happen in Roanoke, VA a few years ago. The local paper on their website linked a searchable database of every CHP holder in the state.)

It isn't anyone's business who owns what.
