On Thursday, Curt Spalding, EPA Regional Administrator, U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal and U.S. Congressman Jim Himes presented Mayor Bill Finch and the City of Bridgeport with a $350,000 Brownfield grant for the City's revolving loan fund.
In total, the EPA announced $1.35 million in Brownfields and Job Training grants to entities in Connecticut.

The Brownfields grants will help Connecticut communities to assess, cleanup and redevelop abandoned or contaminated properties. The funding is part of more than $12 million in EPA brownfields investments and workforce development across the region announced by EPA to protect health and the environment, create jobs and promote economic re-development in American communities.

“It is very critical for a city like Bridgeport, with just 16 square miles of land, to be able to revitalize the brownfields left behind from previous generations and turn them into productive lands that create jobs and expand our tax base,” said Bridgeport Mayor Finch.“Thanks to the support of the EPA, which has been a tremendous partner to the City in our brownfield remediation efforts, we are utilizing hundreds of thousands of dollars in funds to breathe new life into the City’s historic fabric to power the new economy and the City’s future.”........This is from Bill Finchs' weekly newsletter. This is where the liars make themselves look good. Had Blumenthal done his job as he stated when he first took office, none of those Brownfields would exist today. He and Mckinney lied big time about going after the dumping Cappoziellos. Instead Blumenthal illegally dismissed several clean-up suits, saving the Cappoziellos millions of $$ and years of jail time while McKinney had Russell Cappoziellos daughter working for him as an intern, she is now Fairfield Rep Kupchick. I think that would have been the route the envelopes took to get to McKinney, Then head of the State Environmental Commission, and Blumenthal, then Attorney General. Stop voting these lying crooks in!!
