BRIDGEPORT -- The 2-year-old who suffered serious injuries Saturday in a two-story fall was in stable condition Sunday, police said.
The unidentified toddler fell from a second-floor apartment porch on Summerfield Avenue on Saturday at around 9:30 a.m. The child was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital, then transferred to Yale-New Haven Hospital with what police called potentially life-threatening injuries. The child's condition has since improved, according to police.
"The child is now in stable condition," police spokesman William Kaempffer said Sunday.
The case remains under investigation. On Saturday, police said that at the time of the fall, the toddler was with a non-family member who was also taking care of several other children.
