Drivers in Bridgeport and New Haven are more likely to be involved in a car crash than drivers in most of the nation's 200 largest cities, according to a report from the Allstate Insurance Co. released Tuesday.
In Allstate's latest annual "Best Drivers Report," Bridgeport ranks 11th worst in the U.S., falling seven spots from last year, and New Haven 12th, falling eight spots.
In both Bridgeport and New Haven, the average driver will be in a car crash every 6.7 years, the report said.
The safest spot in the nation among the largest U.S. cities is Fort Collins Colo., where the average time between collisions is 13.9 years, the report says. The national average is 10 years.
