Does anyone remember the hobby store on the corner of Granfield ave and Success ave . It was Dr. Domanicks office after that and I think its a convenience store now. They had the best models there . I was big into models back then.
This was a shell gas station, next to Schwartz Hardware store.

My boat went down in the windstorm last month. Two holes in the bottom. Nice garage BTW. Oh, another BTW, we have slips available if you need a place to berth that old Cabin Cruiser. I'm looking at old eggs. Can't swing the trawler I want yet...

Yes, uncle milties was next door to gas station my grandfather took me there many times. Joe passed in 1998. And his son Ron in 1999. The site of the gas station was a smoldering dump when my great grandfather bought it. Later in time he leased it to the American steak house the was previously call the bonanza steak house.

I am from the old hood and ran across this thread, Charlie bit the dust?

My mom wanted me to be friends with Charlie but we weren't cut out to be like that. He piked on me all the time until one day I kicked his ass so bad his grandmother threatened to call the cops. He never bothered or spoke to me after that.

How can you guys talk about that neighborhood without mentioning the old Briarwood Farms???

I worked there for five years during Jr High and High school.
Can anyone remember the owners of Briarwood Farms. I think the ladies maiden name was Barker.
They also owned a catering business. A family friends of ours worked for his Aunt, I think she owned the business. Her nephew is Robert Ed. Keegan, he passed of Cancer in April 2015, lived in New Hampshire. Hw was only 56 years old. He lost his oldest son before him.

Who were the owners of Briarwood Farms at that time? Was it a woman named Barker?
