i am an associate at wal-mart and the thing i hear most is "you must make a lot of money" hell no we don't!! wal-mart makes billions a day and the sales associates, cashiers, and cart pushers don't get shit. we are the ones that actually keep things going in that store. Cart pushers get paid the lowest of us all. Yet they are forced to work in all weather conditions. i know a guy that got hit by a truck and the person driving took off. instead of letting him go home with pay they told him he could spend the rest of his work day in the lounge. i have seen 3 cashiers pee on themselves cause no one wanted to releave them so they could go to the bathroom. managers just walk around giving out orders and firing ppl and the get to go on cruises and they act like they are so much better than us. no one will even sit at the table they are sitting at. wal-mart is a secure place to work and yes im thankful for my job but we are treated like rag dolls!!! i see ppl sitting at desk that start out more than i did. i know ppl that have been working there for over 20 years and barely making over 12 to 13 dollars an hour. there are ppl that are starting out making more than that now. its crazy!

That is what we call capitalism in America. Rebel quit your job and stop shopping at Wal Mart.

Did you know that Wal Mart has a profit margin % wise that is so small no other retailer could ever stay in business making those pecentages.

What you have with Wal Mart in small town is nothing more than plantations and the plantation store. The slaves work all week to spend their pay the the company store.

Modernized slavery or more so modernized stupidity

if your not happy working there then quit. thats just simple. Im sure if you dont want your job then there is sombody else that just put in their application and would love to have your job. as for the cartpushers and cashiers running the business your full of crap. its a team effort and I happen to be part of the team and yes the job can suck sometimes but for the most part its paying my bills and the hours arnt that bad. as for management if you break down their pay by the hour thay make less then that cartpusher that just hired in. and if you get to know them and talk to them they are really nice just a couple are asses. the management team is great compared to some other stores management, beleive me I have worked at a few diffent stores.

who cares what you make or what anyone else makes? Quit wasting cyberspace on such a stupid topic. If you want to make more money go out and work harder. Did they not tell you what your salary would be before you started the job?

There are a lot of people who would love to have your job right now. If you think it's so bad then quit and sit on your butt. If you wanted a better job than being a cashier at Wal-Mart then maybe you should've done something with your life and gotten an education so you could have a decent well paying job. It's nobody's fault but yours that you decided to settle for the life you have. Nobody owes you anything. If you want better pay and a better environment then work for it. Don't expect to get a great paying job right out of high school. You need a college degree. You need a graduate degree. An education is the key. Couple that with hard work, ambition and discipline and that's where monetary and job success comes from. You're never going to get rich sitting around complaining about your minimum wage job. If you don't like it then bust your ass and create a better life.

By the way, I don't believe for a second that you saw three cashiers pee on themselves because nobody would allow them to go to the restroom. Any adult needing to use the restroom that badly would just excuse themselves before they wet their pants. Not to mention, I don't believe that any management refused them a restroom break either. That would be cause for a lawsuit and I don't doubt for a minute that of those supposedly three people you speak of, at least one of them would have been all over a lawsuit against their employer. You are lying.

I know for a fact that the store manager at the Wal Mart in Jonesboro makes 6 figures plus bonuses. Not bad huh.

So you're saying that if a cartpusher makes, let's say...$10/hr.
For a mamager's pay per hour to equal out to no more than that and if a manager worked, let's say...50 hours per week, that would be $10/hr x 50hr =$500 x 52 weeks in a year =$26,000. So if a manager's pay per hour averaged out to be no more and maybe less than a cartpusher's or cashier's pay per hour then that would put a manager making around $26,000 a year.

If you want to buy things cheap you hve to work people cheap. Kind of like McDonalds.

They have to keep the cost down. There are a lot fo things about Wal Mart that I do not like, but at the same time without them we would be paying 3 prices for many daily household items.

So thanks for working at wal mart and bringing me cheap prices. Go to the pharmacy section and get you some Depends and stay on that register.

If people doesn't like the amount of money they make, I suggest they sacrificially invest in themselves. Buy a lawn mower and cut yards for extra cash. You can make at least 14 dollars an hour doing that. I bet the person complaining has cable. Cut the cable and save the 80 dollars for the next 10 years. Take that $9,600 and your 750 each year from lawn mowing and maybe invest more. Please stop complaining because someone wanted to give you a job when you are too undisiplined to invest in yourself.

First...everyone who works at wal-mart has to start somewhere. Wal-Mart is a great place to work and I know for a fact that you can climb the ladder and even without a degree. I worked there for MANY years and I started out as a sales clerk and when I left I was a department manager. For the people who have been there for a long time and is making what the new employees are making you need to consider what the economy is today and what it was at that time. That is something that you need to get your answers from home office. And I agree with "remember trumann" if your really bummed about what you are making go back to school and educate yourself. As for the manegemnt team....I know of 2 great guys who has been working many years at the Trumann store and they are great guys to work with and would do anything for their employees and the community of Trumann. Last....don't compare the Trumann store with the Jonesboro stores it's a whole different ball game. Get you information straight before you start saying CRAP on this web cite FULL of LIES!!!!!
