I wonder how long it will take the lake to mention this, in the quest for more money from the residents?

1 I was going to say I wonder how long it will take for some lake resident to suggest that this latest water break is no reason to actually vote for the dues increase to repair the lake's aging infrastructure, just like they said last month's water main break was no reason to have a dues increase. Maybe the "no dues increase" crowd is right, and it is not a question of the aging infrastructure. With so many lake residents sticking their heads in the sand to pretend there is no need for increased dues, maybe THEY are causing the water main breaks! |

I don'think you have all the facts about the water breaks. Especially, the one that occurred on Turkeysag. Aqua VA had alot to do with that. I am speaking from facts after speaking to the lake staff and Aqua Virginia.
Furthermore, everyone is entitle to vote on this increase and may have their own reasons as to why or why not they agree. The lake does seem to have their priorities out of order when it comes to some things. Take for example, they state they have cut back on the staff to keep the grass mowed; however, have you noticed that the golf course doesn't seem to have tall grass as the right away areas. Yet, this tall grass is a barrier for some drivers to see oncoming cars when pulling onto streets. Yes, it's that tall in some areas. But, go look at the golf course. Maybe before an increase, they need some financial management classes. Seriously...this dues increase is crazy! Money falling short???? Cut out the worthless Police Dept. and the horrible golf course. Don't continue to throw money down the drain and raise "dues" when funds are short.

Well, after the last round of rate increase %, I think Aqua VA has the resources to repair their infrastructure and make quite a handsome profit. I have lived there for the last 6 years. My average water bill went from $60.00 every two months to $ 160.00 each month. (And I do not water my lawns)

LMOA doesn't own the the water company. Aqua is it's own entity. Our HOA dues should not go up because of the aging infrastructure (Aqua lines). I don't pay LMOA for my Dominion power bill, do I? NO! It is up to Aqua to replace the aging infrastructure as was the reason for the staggering rate increase a couple of years ago. The rates went up and I've seen no replacement/maintenance of waterlines except when there is a break (natural or caused by Aqua).
