So, you think that a gun ban would include the police?
Seriously? No, we just to keep high-capacity assault weapons out of the hands of the lunatice-fringe, that's all.
Actually, IF you could read, Instead of watching the TV and internet. You would see that the new law that Cuomo JUST signed does not have an exemption for law enforcement as in prior laws, Most likely because The Gov and his staff are too stupid and trying to impress people with his egotistical power that they do not think they need to obey the same laws as the rest of us. I get a kick out of people that think police agencies do not have to follow the laws.

Well, if YOU could read, you would know that State's gun law don't require a police or military exemption, because it's covered by Federal Law.

So, let me get this straight...you think that the police should have to abide by the same weapons laws as citizens?

Hey Clueless Idiot.
NEW YORK (WABC)-- A troubling oversight has been found within New York State's sweeping new gun laws. The ban on having high-capacity magazines, as it's written, would also include law enforcement officers. Magazines with more than seven rounds will be illegal under the new law when that part takes effect in March. As the statute is currently written, it does not exempt law enforcement officers. Nearly every law enforcement agency in the state carries hand guns that have a 15 round capacity. A spokesman for the governor's office called Eyewitness News to say, "We are still working out some details of the law and the exemption will be included, State Senator Eric Adams, a former NYPD Captain, told us he's going to push for an amendment next week to exempt police officers from the high-capacity magazine ban.

In their rush to push through tough new gun control laws, the New York State Legislature made a huge mistake: They failed to exempt police officers from the regulations regarding “high-capacity magazines.”

This means that when the new laws take effect in March, it will be illegal for any law enforcement official to carry a magazine that holds more than seven rounds. For point of reference, almost every law enforcement agency in the state uses handguns that carry 15 rounds.

“We are still working out some details of the law and the exemption will be included, currently no police officer is in violation,” a spokesman for New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s office told

We've been listening to these stupid arguments about hammers, cars, and fist killing more people than guns...and, if this was six months ago, we'd buy it...but since Newtown, everything has changed. Sorry, we're not buying your lame rhetoric, anymore.
20 dead children tend to change things.
And we are not buying your lame hypocrisy anymore. If you took the time to read my post it was not about cars you fucking moron. It was about cars that are easily capable of doing better than twice the legal speed limit in this country as soon as they are diven off the dealers lot...get it asswipe. Ads I said the typical mantra of you left wing dirtbags is "WHO WOULD NEED A HIGH CAPACITY MAGAZINE" or WHO WOULD NEED AN ASSAULT RIFLE??? Well tell us genious, since over 10340 people were killed on the highways in 2011 in accidents that were caused by speeding WHO WOULD NEED A CAR THAT CAN GO 150mph in a nation where the speed limit is 70mph???? I can gurantee you that out of those 10430 people killed many of them were school aged kids! Yet not one of you fucking lying bastards never says we need to get these high performance cars off our roads. WE NEED TO DO IT FOR THE CHILDREN! Or is it alright with you that 10430 people are killed on the roads as long as it is not in a school. A car that can do 70 or 80 is designed for transportation....one that can do 150 or 205 like the corvette Z1 is designed for SPEEDING. It is against the law to kill someone with a gun unless in self defense...it's also against the law to kill someone with a speeding car....yet people still speed don't they.

according to a lot of the citizens of the USSA, only redneck southerners are civil war advocates. on the Richmond VA topix, an African American female is advocating CIVIL WAR. I told the dumb broad there isn't any reason for her to advocate civil war as she has a literal African American as president of the USSA, full title being the Democratic Republic of the United Socialist States of America, rather long, hefty title, ain't it. Andrew Cuomo, Italian American, teaming up with Barack Hussein Obama, African American, to disarm the citizenry to put their socialism into full practice. Country with the strictest gun control has also the most mass murders and crime, no not Russia but close. Ukraine. I laughed when some genius was writing about the frivolity of hammer killing. A group of thugs in Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine went through the streets, beating people to death with hammers in socks. But of course that's beneath Americans. No American would ever stoop that low, right?

First, I am not a gun owner. Never felt the need to own one. However, I understand that others enjoy guns.

What I don't understand is banning one type of gun and how some think this would save people. Would banning a bushmaster pervent a Sandy Hook? The nutcase brought 3 other guns with him. I don't see these gun control laws changing anything otherthen taking rights away from law abidding people.

Well, if YOU could read, you would know that a State law can be more restrictive than federal law...but NOT less restrictive.

"A spokesman for the governor's office called Eyewitness News to say, "We are still working out some details of the law and the exemption will be included, currently no police officer is in violation."

"The Patrolman's Benevolent Association President released a statement saying, "The PBA is actively working to enact changes to this law that will provide the appropriate exemptions from the law for active and retired law enforcement officers."
