You would think with all the driving and parking violations I see go unnoticed that it would be easy enough to write enough summonses without making them up. Go figure.

Who's blaming Rookies? If anything rookies was used as an example to show comparison to the issue at hand hence "Queens rookie cops probed in bogus summons scam". You have to remember criminals join the NYPD. As far as pay is considered if you are or were an NYPD Police Officer you would know that all you hear are cops complaining about there pay and why they should preform to there full expectation.

What I laughed about when I joined the department was how seasoned Police Officers try to mold you into there belief system and if you didn't conform you weren't part of there click.

A rookie knows nothing when he joins the department.

FYI. That Sergeant Katz perv. He spoke to our class in the academy. I knew there was something strange about that guy.

I can sit on a corner at any given time and write numerious violations, from running reds, to blocking crosswalks and intersections, not to mention seat belt and cell phone violations, and the very humerious missing the front license plate on most of the Sports Cars * the notorious Corvette is an Easy Target *

40 tickets is not an unreachable number, this can be done by a rookie cop being they stay out of the donut shops and dont have to tuck their a$$ into there pants.

The problem here is they filed for Over time.

Geez, the monthly quota is only 25 tags & 10 movers. If you worked red light OT, you only needed 10. If that's what "they" want, that's what you give em. No more ,no less. Red light OT was blood money. You really had 2B hard up to volunteer for it.

I thought the NYPD does not have ticket quotas...>LMAO.

Silly me, noodle, I thought a cop was a cop as soon as he put on the uniform and badge.

So, gays aren't real cops. According to whom?

WHat makes a real cop, limp noodle?

At the end of every month we have to fill out a performance list. On that list it has a nice long to do list for the month. When you fill it out and submit it to your Sgt. It gets reviewed. You have to meet the quota as close as possible. Or get disciplined.

Yes there is a QUOTA. Everyone has to meet the level they are asked.

If found guilty they should be dealt with very harshly. There's no room for that nonsense within the dept and there should be zero tolerance for it.
Cops don't want to work with people like this.

THen why do Police in the news deny that there is a quota?

Even better, in lawsuits, I have read both deposition and direct testimony saying there is no quota.

I agree on a zero tolerance ....but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I dated a Queens cop for years and we met because he ticketed my car. He confded to me that he was told by his superiors to ticket cars without any reason to make a quota. The logic being that 1 out of 4 of us suckers will just pay the tab than deal with going to PVB to fight it. And that's the truth.

What do you expect when you are denied days off, transfers into different units that you put requests in for and footspost as punishments when you don't meet the quota!!!!! Don't let them lie to the public when they say there is not quota. What they did was wrong but being rookies they must have felt under pressure. The CO of the 113th should get transferred also!

Maybe they were told to do it this way. 40 seatbelt tickets is not a lot for 2 cops on 1 tour. Maybe they had a lot of pressure coming from above to get these numbers. We all know that it is a numbers game. Make the city tons of $ and never pay the police a decent salary..

In the legal business they use creative words. Quotas are illegal by state law. Other terms are used

enforcement index
goals
productivity
expectations
standards

Get the pernt? Same chit.
