What happened? Did Troy slip through the loops when the most recent upping of them school taxes a few months ago? Schodack, Sand LAke, and another place got hammered with that firms reassessments to raise taxes got hired and completed. Taxes were doubled and if you happen to own a 2nd piece of property you pay the full shot without any STAR! THey are like a bunch of ROBBERS--better yet "organized criminals!

Hi there Nazi,

you don't know what you are talking about. Get your facts correct. Re-assessing doesn't mean raising taxes!
Increasing the yearly budget increases taxes whether you to a re-assessment or not. By increasing the budget you have to raise taxes to get more money in.
So once again, re-assessing doesn't increase your taxes overall. However, if your are one of the lowlives that are under assessed then you should pay your fair share and get the burden off of the folks that are over paying. Let's make it fair to everyone.
Just to inform you though, I am against all property taxes. It is un American to pay taxes forever on something you own. I have to pay taxes on the money I make only to buy a home (a necessity) and then pay property taxes on its value forever. What if I saved and struggled to buy a really nice house? I would be paying more taxes on it than my neighbor who might make more money then me. It is not fair. I say get the taxes elsewhere. Have people that rent also contribute to the City they live in.

Another bad sign for the residents is a Mayor that sends notice to Council members two days before the meeting is scheduled. Perhaps, if Council members received notice before Saturday, July 5th, some may have showed, including his his own party.

You either forgot to mention, or weren't aware, that it was never listed on the agenda. Only Harry can get away with this. Everytime the Dem majority wants to put something on the agenda they have to go through the City's Lawyer (DM), for approval to be placed on the NEXT City Council meeting, NOT the upcoming meeting!

Harry is painfully aware that he no longer has his "rubberstamp", "bulletproof", Rep majority.

Why didn't the news question the good mayor about this?
