(KMOV)-- Investigators with the Major Case Squad are looking into the suspicious death of a 42-year-old woman in Lincoln County, Missouri.

According to officials, Lincoln County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the 100 block of Sumac Drive in Troy, Missouri on Tuesday after reports of a deceased female. When officers arrived, they determined the woman's death was suspicious and contacted the Lincoln County Criminal Investigations Division and Sheriff Krigbaum, who then activated the Major Case Squad.

Authorities are not releasing many details surrounding the woman's death at this time. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death and the release of the victim's name is being held until relatives are notified.

The investigation is ongoing and Lieutenant Sutton with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office said more information will be released as it develops.

Jesus james, shut up already!!! just because you were run out of the department because you were a complete pos, quit running down the people who chose stay. Maybe you should focus more on doing good police work instead of harassing woman, and you might not get canned from your current department. I hope you enjoy your new gig in the ghetto.

Your endless dribble reaks of a former disgruntled employee. Besides, with all the shady stuff you did, the people still there are saints by comparison.

LCJ just released that a person was taken into custody and that she died from stab wounds. KMOV reported the same as well. Comments on their facebook page stated the husband was the one taken into custody. Someone else also commented that the poor woman had also just beaten breast cancer.

Lincoln County, MO (KSDK)—The Lincoln County Sheriff's office arrested a man in connection with the murder of Elizabeth "Betsy" Faria Wednesday, but they released him Thursday.

The 42-year-old woman was found in her home in the 100 block of Sumac Drive. A press release reveals she had been stabbed several times.

No information is available yet on the person being held.

A neighbor said he last saw Faria on Christmas Eve, when she told him she was cancer free.

Authorities towed a Ford Explorer that was sitting in the driveway, and a forensics truck sat outside Wednesday as members of the Major Case Squad continued to collect evidence.

"It just leads me to believe that something, you know, bad did happen. It wasn't an accident, and it wasn't, you know, natural causes. Unfortunately to have this many people out here and the road blocked off," said another neighbor, Karla Newell.

Investigators arrested a man and held him for 24 hours hoping to gather enough evidence to charge him, but they fell short.

Police are withholding his name and relationship to Faria because he has not been charged.

The prosecutor in the case said Faria's husband told them he came home from running errands Tuesday night and found his wife dead after being stabbed several times.

Authorities say there were no signs of forced entry, and nothing was reported missing from the home.

Faria and her husband owned a DJ company called "Party Stoppers."

Fox2 news is reporting the person they released is Russ Faria.

This is typical of these LC pos cops. A man comes home from shopping, finds his wife dead, calls the cops, and the cops arrest him instead of looking for the real killer. That is why I never report a crime. If I call 911, the cops will arrest me while the criminals get away free.

Wow. You must be king of the retards. You have no idea what you are talking about. I think I have just lost a few brains cells from reading your post. Until you get a clue, go back to cooking your meth.
