Just wondering if anybody knows about any camps or has suggestions for kids this summer and fun things to do. I am a working Mom, but have someone at home watching them for the summer. I want them to have fun and not be stuck at home all week long since we do not have any neighbors close by with kids their age. I was wanting them to get out maybe only once or twice a week. I have checked out the Troy sports camp, but my son isn't quite old enough yet.

You have guts asking that question here, or attempting to be serious in any form or fashion.

This forum is filled with nothing but evil, vile, wicked, foul mouthed, wretched, weak minded, individuals that will stop at nothing to feed their infinitesimal mind's appetite for bashing Lincoln County, its residents, and anything contained within its borders.

I suggest after reading this you never come back here, or you will end up feeling disgraced that you even live amongst the people on this forum after you read what they are going to say to you about Troy or Lincoln County.

This is Lincoln County and home to the biggest bunch of inbred hoosiers of all the USA. These local folks consider drinking, doping, screwing, and thieving as "fun things to do".

And once again someone asking a question about their family gets these responses. Mom, unfortunately there isn't anything to do around Troy for kids without supervision and costing a small fortune. May I suggest a hike in the park, some fishing, and spending quality time with them when you are home?

You can go to Cuivre River State Park, they have a nice beach and swimming in the lake. Fun place, kids really like. The Movie theater. Feed the ducks at the city park, playgrounds, and fishing at the city park. Take them to the fire department to see the fire trucks up close. There are several places to go get an icecream. Have a picnic in one of the parks.

Stay out of Troy and Cuivre River park. The Troy park is where numerous drug deals go down and the police are always watching. You don't want to get caught in the cross-fire of a gun fight. The movie theatre is filthy and black...not dark...black. Soda and popcorn is all over the seats and floors. Cuivre River Park is where crooks dump the bodies of their victims. Before you even think about taking your children anywhere in Troy or LC in general, get yourself a personal CCW and don't leave home without it.

Check this site out and beware of child molesters in this county. There are a ton of them.

Here are some ideas for you..

1) Lakeview Farms, OFallon - pick your own strawberries
2) Alpaca Farm, New London - see the alpacas and have a picnic lunch, they call it "Paca Lunch"
3) Visit Hannibal - Mark Twain cave and birthplace
4) Make their own kites and fly them at one of the parks
5) Golf lessons at Wood's Fort?
6) Swimming lessons at Troy Pool
7) Hike the trails at Cuivre River State Park. Don't swim there tho the lake is closed.
8) Raging Rivers water park in Grafton - take the ferry to get there.
9) Explore Clarksville - arts and crafts
10) Lincoln County Fair in July
11) Six Flags
12) City Mueseum and World Aquarium
13) St Louis Zoo
14) Join a T ball or baseball team
15) Rascals game
16) St. Louis Art Museum
17) St. Louis Arch
18) Have them plant a small garden or container garden and tend it. If you want they can reserve a plot at the health department community garden.
19) Attend one of the summer concerts at Troy City Park.
20) Playtime Party Center (they also have roller skating)in Wentzville
21) Imagination Pottery in Wentzville - kids make their own.

Hope this helps you with ideas!
