If this initiative passes the district will institute compassionate billing which means no more out of pocket costs for county residents when an ambulance is used.

does anybody know off the top of their heads. what dozen the ambulances district grosss in a year? I know last year I had to call the ambulance for my wife she had severe abdominal pain. I was very impressed with the 2 paramedics that responded. I was very upset when I received a bill for almost $600 and I live 3 miles a way from the hospital is it really cost $200 dollars a mile
If this initiative passes there will be no more out if pocket costs for county residents if ambulance is used.

LCAD is using scare tactics. There is a difference in types of delays. These "delays" in care that they keep talking about are delays in routine transfers. On these transfers that are not emergencies, it doesn't matter if there is a wait period. VOTE NO!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad to see that the Ambulance District has gotten what they deserve. Maybe know they will reorganize and shut down their emergency pickup trucks and spend the tax payer's money wisely.

Next, let's give the schools "what they deserve." Then any other public entity. How about we give all of them "what they deserve?" Then when we try to sell our houses to get the heck out of here, we will get "what we deserve."

I would like to thank all of you that put Obama into office to recieve free health care, but not pass the .30 cent tax increase to get to the facility to actually receive the health care. Now you will be paying a bill. If this increase would have went through you would have had a free ride. Guess some people were still misinformed.

There was a car accident on HWY 47 today, 4 people went to the hospital... Whoops, There goes all four ambulances hope nobody has an emergency in the next 1-2 hours while all the ambulances are in the next COUNTY. Oh yeah, there was one, it was a heart attack, good thing the first medic JUST crossed into Lincoln County.

Not to mention once the first ambulance left, The other patients had to wait for the other ambulances to get there. Only like 15 mins, But whose counting right? At least I didn't have to pay that extra $65 on my taxes at the end of the year.

I like looking at the people that voted no, they are always soooo against the change? They hear the word "tax" and are automatically against it. They are the ones that complain nothing is good enough, but never have a solution to fix it. If there isn't a better way to do something, then shut your mouth because that would mean there is nothing wrong it.

People like the ones that voted no are the ones that complain it is the way it is, but then when something happens to them complain it isn't better. "Ambulances go to fast!!", " What took you guys so long". "Tax for compassionate billing so I don't have to pay for a ride? heck no!", "What? Look at this bill?!!"

You people ever play the board game life? I bet you sucked didn't you. You were the ones that never bought insurance for your family.

I just don't understand how you people can put Obama in office and support free health care, but not support free ambulance rides? Seriously? Please respond how .30 a year wouldn't justify that but you support the biggest tax increase in your living history?

I don't see the connection between free health care (and it's anything but free) and the Ambulance District tax increase. The District already has the money for expenses and getting what they need. If the department heads would quit mismanaging our tax dollars, they would not be asking for an increase all the time.

You are pretty uninformed about the actual truth. Attend a Board meeting to find out why. Always asking for an increase is a lie.

Maybe not ALWAYS, but with enough frequency that the general voting public is fed up with the requests for more money. Between the combined tax increases of the R-III Disrict, LCMC and the Ambulance Dist., taxes have continued to spiral higher. This is a fact. Just look at your tax bills for the past 5-10 years.

It is also a fact that with no commercial or industrial development, the tax burden will continue to fall on the shoulders of the residential home owner. All along, your state rep claims no responsibility for this, yet see's fit to author farmers tax breaks despite record crop prices and a 15% increase in farm income. Has your income risen 15% as well as receiving 6% tax break on your property? No, you haven't. And your boy Ed has seen to it that this will all be paid for by you.

I agree. Ed and most of the other elected officials have done little to attract outside business, jobs and revenue to the County. Most of the long standing power structure doesn't want any competition. Look at how Washington, Mo. has grown and attracted revenue growth and they aren't even on a U.S. highway like Troy. Too many inbred 3rd and 4th generation folks who pull the political strings around here....behind the scenes.

So I'm in Wentzville around 8:30 this morning and what do I see at Chick-fil-A a Lincoln County Abulance parking and the 2 EMT's going inside. Now I'm sure they had just transported someone to St Joes or St Johns, but shouldn't they drop off the person and get back to Lincoln county as soon as possable? I don't have a problem with them stoping to get someting to eat but please do it in Lincoln County so you can respond to the next 911 call.

When eating @ restaurants it's almost always to go unless when picking up @ patient @ a hospital that we just took someone to & the patient being picked up for the transfer is not quite ready & have a few minutes to eat. Is that a problem? We have to eat to. We don't always get time to eat, is that a problem, to eat? Plus we get permission from out supervisors to make sure there are trucks to take emergency calls before we can consider stopping & grabbing a bite to go. I worked for LCAD several years ago & the same policies are practiced there still as far as I know & is pretty much standard for any service. After all we need food to. We still live in a free country still right??????

Sometimes they go from one transfer out of county then must pick up another out of county transfer to bring back. Many times the patient is not ready for 30 min. or so and the medics go 8 to 10 hours with out eating due to emergency calls and transfers. Would you like one of the medics showing up for a call to pass out because they had not gotten back to base or the county for 12 or 14 hours to eat? I really hope the answer to that is no. How would you feel if you were at work and could not eat for that long. Medics, Firefighters and Police Officers do a job that most laypeople have NO idea what in entails. Before you criticize them, walk a mile in their shoes.

I do work in law enforcement, and it's called bring a lunch box.
I don't have a problem with them stopping to get something to eat, just do it in Lincoln County so they can answer the next call that goes out.

It's not always that easy Dave. We're gonna eat when we get the chance so get over it. We get hungry to. We see LCSD Deputies eating outside Lincoln County. Unhappy with your job? You still have time for a career change. Got to EMT & Medic school & stop whining about less important issues. Our trucks are to big go go through the drive through, so obviously we have to go inside to get food to go, so take hour medication & get over it. There's bigger fish out there. Hope your day &:life gets better. So stop sweating the small stuff.
