Tona, to say you are an argumentative-story twisting-person in self denial would be a masterful understatement. If we were not supporting the poor LCMC, just maybe the folks would have had enough money left over to pay a higher levy for the Troy school district. Ditto an airport to "nowhere". Tax, tax, tax. That is all you offer. Is it asking too much for those that require an airport to build it? I don't need an airport, I need a real hospital nearby in case of a traumatic medical emergency. All LCMC can do is tag your toe and send you to the grave. You have a personal interest in an airport and your posts reveal such. Okay, build both, but we need a real hospital more than we need an airport for all those 747"s flying overhead looking for a place to land in LC versus those suffering traumatic injuries in accidents and other personal health issues. You are in self denial and have an obvious personal interest in an airport. Pick, pick, and pick all you want. Your posts reveal the truth behind your personal strategies.
Well, you're certainly welcome to your opinion of me. I have no issues with that.
* Argumentative? Well yeh, I certainly can be. That is no surprise. I like honest, intellectual debate.
* I like story-telling in its proper place but I don't mix real issues with it.
* self-denial? About what?
* LCMC has nothing to do with RIII. If there were no tax money going to LCMC it would have probably gone to a 400 sq ft building for the CVB...in other words, someone would have spent it somewhere else before you could blink.
* Airport to nowhere? I don't believe for a minute that you know anything about it. I DON'T have a "personal" interest in it. I'm not a pilot and I don't have an aircraft. I simply have read the feasibility study in depth...have researched regional airports across the Country and their impact on Communities both positive and negative. Up until early last year, I was opposed until I took an "honest, objective" look at it. Now, I'm 100% in favor of it.
* Tax, tax, tax? Hardly, I'm conservative. I despise being taxed. But I understand how things work.
* I'm totally in favor of a Hospital coming to our area...always have been. I just happen to be thankful that we've had LCMC here all these years. Is it the best medical facility ever? Of course not. However, it has served this community well for many years. If you disagree...ok...so?
* My "personal strategies?" roflmao...you are making more of me than I make of myself...too rich...

Actually, I think the real reason the Mayor wanted to meet me was to know who I was on Topix...how's that for a dose of reality?

btw, it seems to me that the two, today, who are saying I have nothing better to do than to post on Topix...have nothing better to do than to post on Topix...oh my, "the Emperor has no clothes!"

Its quite obvious to everyone that you are addicted to me...I would get an icky feeling normally, but I realize exactly what I'm dealing with and find great comfort in that knowledge.
Continue on making yourself irrelevant...you seem to wear it well my friend...but I won't hold that against you...I understand.

How can I hardly post anything to refute the massive amount of hard data you present? I'm highly impressed!

Well, you are obviously in a totally different class than I...alas, I will defer.

Please, have a good evening.

tona you hit the nail on the head. A lot of people are curious as to who you are. Keep up the great job. It lets big brother know someone is keeping a close eye on their every move :) Hopefully the Mayor took notes, there are some good ideas in the begining of this forum.

i am tired of people picking on Tona. The ideas she has are great.

It is way past time for Lincoln County to grow and change. Our county is growing by leaps and bounds and our schools are becoming overcrowded. As she said, let's make our community inviting to others and improve our county. I love her ideas! Just Tona alone!

Is there some reason why you believe that speaking and writing with such vulgarity serves to support your points? I believe that a bar of Ivory soap in your mouth might do you some good. I hope that you don't have children....the thought of additions to the population that emulate your behavior is frightening. You are the reason that the gene pool is polluted.

If you or the Mayor rely on internet information from unknown sources, then you both are in trouble. Only in LC!

Recently, the Mayor of Troy, MO contacted me by email asking if I would be interested in meeting with him to share some of my ideas for improving the City of Troy.
Here is my response:
Mayor Cross,

2. I have also been vocal as to the need to bring in new retail. I am for the Sydnorville Road extension (Troy Parkway) to hwy 61 north of Troy. Although I believe that eminent domain should be a tool that is employed sparingly and wisely, I personally believe it may be warranted in this case for the good of the Community.
Tona,

Perhaps you should educate yourself a little bit more on the Sydnorville Road extension before you suggest that eminent domain be warranted in this case. I live on Sydnorville Road. My property would be apart of the project, but I have yet to EVER receive an offer. Neither has my neighbor. How are we to decide if we would be willing to sell if we do not know how much they would be billing to pay? I have met with Raven Developement and been shown the plans but have not been OFFERED a price. I am not looking to sell, so therefore I do not have an asking price. If they would like to BUY, our land on Sydnorville Road THEY should start by making an offer before we start talking eminent domain.

I am familiar with most of what this project entails.
I don't think that I need to be made aware of every possible buyout contract to make a decision on whether or not eminent domain should be employed.
I know of one piece of property that has been made offers and thus far has not accepted any. So, if there are one or several properties, my opinion remains the same.

But the Mayor wasn't intending on "relying on internet information from unknown sources..." The Mayor wanted to meet "personally."

It is obvious to me....you know very little about the project. THe project only consist of a handful of property owners. All of which I know very well. The RUMORED "holdout" has NOT been made an offer. As I previously stated, neither my neighbor or myself have been made any offers. We are not looking to sell, but would be willing to sell if the price is right. NO OFFERS have been declined by ANYONE. You shouldn't be so willing to employ eminent domain based on a meeting that was held, where a design was displayed, and the landowners were asked, would you like to sell. The response was, it depends on how much, at this point that question is still unanswered. I have had several conversations with the other landowners and believe I can speak for everyone, when I say "Make us a written offer, and we will go from there".

This is in direct conflict with what some officials have reported then. Perhaps the one landowner, who reportedly had more than one offer, did not feel it necessary to share that information with you. I don't know.
We have you saying one thing, and officials saying another.

As to eminent domain, there are laws which govern its use. Fair market value, being the highest price somebody would pay for the property were it in the hands of a willing seller, would certainly guide the process.
So, I think that I can still maintain my personal opinion about its use in this case.

Even if it weren't true that an offer has been made to one property owner as reported by more than one City Official, the project is still viable and should be explored up to and including the employment of eminent domain.
This is my personal opinion.

All I saying....is that the rumors are not true. Written offers have been made to some land owners but not all. The "holdout" has not been offered anything. Some of the officials are not being totally honest. You can not say a person has not accepted an offer that doesn't exist. I know my neighbors are not lying to me because I have been at meetings with them, and we have both stated the same thing: we would like a written offer, we are not looking to sell, therefore, we do not believe we should come up with an "asking price".

Officials have stated that "the hold-out" has been offered a fair market value "plus."
I'm not sure why they would need to "lie" about this.
I'm not sure why you would need to "lie" about this.
None of that makes any sense.

Ok, "someone" call me and give me the truth of the matter please.

Aside from the truth of that. It is my opinion that this project should go forward up to and including the use of eminent domain.
