I use to shop at Kroger but everytime I go in for an ad itme the shelves are empty. It is hard to get around the store lots of stuff in the back isles. Wlamrt is just as bad so I guess I go the Schnucks or Dierbergs in Wentzville now. Have you experienced problems with advertised items not available?

I shop at Krogers 3 or 4 times a week. Never seen stuff in the back isles except the meat cases and bakery items being promoted. You just want to stir up a debate on here. I love Krogers! They have organic foods, the best meat, and produce is always fresh. Dierbergs sucks and is way overpriced. Schnucks is OK for seafood, but Kroger has everything else I need.

I was in there yesterday the shelfs were wiped out of gatorade on sale, life cereal 1.49 none available, 3 small watermelons left that were on sale, cheetos none on shelf, just seems the sale items are always empty on shelf. Must have someone new ordering? Dierbergs and Schnucks are higher but they do run stuff on sale. Kroger does have good meat, but I see more prepack fresh meat than it use to have. I am just an average shopper trying to save a buck but when the items are not avaialable it is frustrating.

I haven't really noticed a difference. I went the other day and stocked up on gatorade and they had decent selection--I saw them in two different locations in the store. Of course they're going to go fast when they're only .67 cents each. I used to buy most of my meat there, but I switched to Moser's in Warrenton. Everything there is freshly processed by their butchers and it's better quality. Plus they don't "hide" the worst cuts at the bottom of the packages like Krogers does. They have great sales too.

Go to the store manager and get a rain check.

Snookie...maybe you should get to the store earlier if you want to grab up on the sale items. Heck, there are 10,000 people in Troy that probably want to buy things on sale too! If the sale items are out of stock, then get a rain check at the Customer Service counter. This is really no big deal. If you want to drive 30 miles round trip to Wentzville or Warrenton and use up your grocery savings on gasoline, I'm sure Obama would praise you for being a savy shopper.

I'm glad to hear the shelves are bare at Kroger. That means people are buying local increasing our tax revenue. And yes I always get a rain check on out of stock items. Also this week I received my coupons from Kroger because I use my Kroger discount card. I received coupons for Free eggs, produce, frozen vegtables, $1.50 off bounty paper towels and lot of other items. I love Kroger

I too, noticed the shelves were empty AND I WENT IN THE MORNING! I've notied this alot since they fired Dave Miller. He always made sure items were on the shelf. Regardless, I will still shop there but it is very frustrating when sale items are gone. They know this, they're on sale so they should keep up with the stocking of shelves.

All stores in Troy are overpriced by 30% compared to those closer to STL. They have you by the balls, knowing you don't want to drive to Wentzville or O'Fallon. Do the math and compare prices. There is a reason Kroger got ran out of the STL metro years ago.

30% over price sounds right.

I suggest you change your shopping schedule. You are obviously shopping too late and the items you want have been bought up by smarter shoppers.

It has always been about 30% higher.
It has to do with distribution points.

You are correct. And the merchandise mix is different too...
NE MO Wal mart is served by the distribution center in Columbia, MO.
The prices at the Wentzville Wal mart are less, and have a better selection.
In Troy, there is no competition for sales dollars, ergo you get what you get....unless you drive 15 minutes south.
No bash intended, just economic reality.

And people are voting with their feet.

Krogers distribution point for this region is Indianapolis.

I went back in the store today and again no sweet baby rays, few flavors of gatorade, no 7up, no pizzas on sale. This was 10am today. What good is a rain check when they never have product in the store. I like to support my community but this is frustrating when you can't get what you want.

Just left Kroger about 20 min. ago stocking all soda shelves.
Bought 7up so it's there now.
Lot of good prices
Thank you Kroger for supplying me the lowest price possible close to home.
Have a blessed Sunday to all.

Unless I absolutely need something, I shop in Wentzville. Everything I need is there. Troy refuses to put new retail stores here.

Put in some stores worth shopping at and I'll gladly shop.
