Bring deputies home!

Met a LCSD deputy during lunch today. Talked about upcoming transition and anticipated changes with new incoming Sheriff. I was astonished to learn that we currently have a detective assigned to a task force in St. Louis, and another in St. Charles. Are we so crime free and have the resources to afford sending our people to the east?

Hope new administration focuses on local crime and services to Lincoln County.

Bring our deputy / detectives home and put them to work!

They are part of the multi-county drug task force.
This is a good thing.

We should pull these detectives back to LC. Then when we need help here with a major crime...the other counties and the task force refuse to help us. This is a common occurrence. You and your deputy (janitor at the jail) should have finished high school.

The St. Louis Metro Major Case Squad, remember they worked the Alisa Maier kidnapping, Elizabeth Faria murder, and other crimes in Lincoln County. Whoever the deputy or deputies who are working on this squad are probably getting a lot of knowledge and experience which can only help our county and themselves.

Unfortunately we can't afford to bring them home, not that we would want to. One of the deputies is assigned to the cyber crimes task force in St. Charles. His salary is reimbursed by St. Charles county and the federal government, yet most of the stuff he works on is here in Lincoln county. Every time you open the paper and see someone that was arrested for a sexoffense involving a minor and the internet, he was involved in. This position as been around since 2008 and Troy Pd has an officer in the task force as well.

The other deputy is part of a federal drug taskforce. His salary is reimbursed to the county by the federal government. His focus is Lincoln county and how it ties in with the bigger picture of Drugs in the St. Louis area. Any asset forfeiture he is a part of, Lincoln county gets a percentage of.

Both of the positions are paid for by other agencies and benefit Lincoln county directly. I appreciate you taking the time and getting to know one of our deputies but if you should have a questionin in the future please ask and clarify instead of assuming.

I think you are re writing history. First off the kidnapping did not occur in Lincoln County and the "Major Case Squad" did not work the kidnapping. The FBI and ICE and the US Marshals did along with local agencies.

If you remember the "Major Case Squad" was called in to work the Murder of Jeff Smith not the kidnapping. Why didn't the "Major Case Squad" catch the second suspect in the Jeff Smith Murder! Maybe it was because Lincoln County didn't want to foot the bill from the Squad? Many think they never finnished their job.

Many people believe the moon landing was faked. Many people believe the government planned 911.
Many people believe in big foot.

Is it possible there is another person involved in The Jeff Smith murder. Sure its possible, but do you have direct evidence to support it, not just a theory? If so, I'm sure the authorities would like to hear from you.

If there is not anymore evidence for them to follow up on, and all the leads have dried up, what do u expect them to do? Because if there was evidence and leads suggesting a second person, I'm sure the major case squad wouldn't have been disbanded.

Yes, that curious little thing that in Lincoln County seems to be strange to too many people.
Indeed, if there was not evidence to follow up on, or the leads dried up there is nothing else to do but periodically review.....if and when someone comes forward with new evidence.

But just remember, the locals in this county will believe anything....just ask Bass and Galloway.
Oh Sure

They never proved that this guy murdered Jeff Smith. The case should still be open.

And how exactly do you intend to pay for them? I guess you don't seem to grasp the reality of not having any commercial or industrial development huh?
How about you go ask Addict Matt Bass or Theif EuGene Galloway how to pay for them......I bet you get a surprising answer!....like they don't have a clue or don't see a need to have any more police....

I love the babble about big foot and all of your BS.
Once again if you knew how the "Major Case Sqaud" works you would know that the only stay active for 5 days unless extended. There is a cost to the agency they are helping. And again the "Squad" was not called out for the child kidnapping. The easy thing for Lincoln County to do was close the Smith case. He wasn't liked by them after he quit the Sheriff's Department. They couldn't control him by intimidation. He said want he wanted to. He wasn't under their control like their deputy's. If you say something we will fire you!!! I know you were on the moon looking for big foot while this was going on.
