I am tired of getting notices that the water in Troy has too much combined radium, too many Alpha Emitters and too much flouride, with the sloution being to monitor the well. Certainly there is something else that can be done?

Hey dumb stick how about you learn to READ and take note that the NOTICE refers to testing done LAST YEAR and it is to reiterate to you that they are researching what the cause is and a remedy.

You are stupid. The notice said there's more fluoride in the water than is recommended, but it's just barely above that level.
And you have a foul mouth that needs some soap you evil person.

FYI... This is the second notice, the last one being last summer... Then it was only too much combined radium. Now its alpha emitters and flouride as well as radium and they are still only "monitoring and researching"? I am just saying that it shouldn't take over 1 year to find a solution!!

P.S. I do buy bottled water (bad for the environment) and I have a fridge filter and a water softener.

P.P.S. Why are you people so hateful? Idiot? Dumbstick?

Studies that were done that show fluoride to be safe and beneficial were paid for by the aluminum industry that was trying to get rid of fluoride as a by product of aluminum production. The studies were based on small reports of kids having less cavities in towns with water supplies that had NATURAL occurring fluorides. It turns out that these studies have now been refuted...but the politics of $$$$ keeps municipal water departments in the practice of adding fluorides in the name of "public health." Fluorides are linked to multiple types of cancers....that's why you NOW see warning labels on toothpastes.

Any time a governmental "expert" says he's looking out for you...beware. The experts said," catalytic converters will reduce acid rain." Truth...they cause MORE of it. The experts said," DDT is beneficial for the environment."...it was not. The "experts" banned Dr.Semellweis from the medical profession for suggesting that doctors should wash their hands before surgery. The practice wasn't adopted for another fifty years. The "experts" say fluoride is good for the teeth....in spite of hundreds of studies showing the exact opposite.

Actually, a pipe runs from the Troy sewage disposal straight to the water tower. The funny thing is, you townies pay the city to feed you back your own sewage.
