The outdoor barbeque places are closing up. The one across from Big T is gone, what happened to Montes? I wish the city health department would close them all down. None have hot running water, bathrooms, etc and to be in the restaurant business this should be a must. Sticky has a porta pottay anyone want to use that today!!
Close them all down and maybe a nice restaurant would move in. Also I am sure they all report how much they took in daily so Troy gets it tax revenue. Tax is paid on sales and most goes in the pocket as cash check out the next time you go to a Chinese restaurant and pay cash and watch them hit no sale.

They close down once winter arrives. No big secret. I'll take Big sticky's BBQ over anything that comes out of wal mart's deli, Ponderosa, KFC or any of the fast food joints. Have you actually watched the teenagers making your food? I've watched workers wearing gloves carrying out trash cans to the dumpster go right to the line and make food with the same gloves on. Big sticky monitors the internal temp of food prior to serving it....the others have been known to send out completely raw product.

Well, I just bought a turkey, six chickens and a huge pork shoulder that I'm smoking tomorrow so it appears I don't need to go to any of those places........

I am not eating anything cooked in an old stock trailer. Who ever thinks that is a good idea, and anything from a guy named big stickey cant be good in your body.

I'm with you on this one SLs!

I ate at Big Sticky's ONCE. I guess the internal temp that he is monitoring is perhaps a cool 60 degrees because the pork was NOT COOKED. The worst potato salad I've ever attempted to eat.

Monte's will under cook their burgers which isn't so bad, because if you ask for well done, you will get it.

And really, what sensible adult actually eats fast food?

I like home cooked meals.
cheaper
quality control
nutritious
sensible
tastier
and then there's leftovers for lunch or freeze them for a future meal.

Where is Montes at now?
Sticky uses temp gauges I agree but he has no hot water and how can this be compliant with safety health codes. None of them have hot water.

you have to know how to read a temp gauge to actually use it.
Undercooked pork is particularly UNSAFE.
It was totally gross and mixed with the potato salad, or whatever it really was about made me puke.
I trashed the whole order and never went back.

You have "heard" nothing of the kind. Either post the cert. number which clears the air and states fact, or shut up.

I'm on the outside looking in on this, but I do recall reading the Health Department's review of this place in the LCJ one week. They scored a 93 I believe. I had never heard of the company, but my son told me where they were in Kroger's parking lot.

Instead of insisting for everyone else to "state the facts" why don't you call the Lincoln County Health Department and ask yourself?

Since you are too lazy, here it is. The last time is shows they were inspected was 8/12.

Maybe you have Sticky's mixed with Green China Buffet? On 12/5, they were inspected and hot water was not available at hand sink and servers

Also, I don't have a certificate number, but if they didn't have one, it would have been noted like Cold Stone Creamery/Pumpkin Festival. They were fined for Operating without LCHD Permit/Education Provided.

Reading Monte's reviews and it looks like the only complaint the Health Department had was small gaps in screening need repair, and a few issues with trashcans. Nothing mentioned about running water. Get your facts straight jack-hole before you start slamming a business without doing your research first.

LMFAO! This is Lincoln County where facts, research and the truth mean NOTHING! They don't share one brain amongst them.

These outdoor businesses do not have running water, restrooms facilities that a restaurant should have to have. I guess it you want to you can go to Stickys portapotty today. How can the handwash stations be legal when it says not portable water? I think the health department needs to hold them accountable to the other restaurants in town and have city water and sewer.
My question originally is what happpened to Montes?
Also how can you have hot water without a hot water heater outside man.

As people mentioned before, it's winter. Maybe he wanted some time off? As for outdoor restrooms, I don't think that any business has to supply a restroom for you. Since most of the outdoor BBQ places can be considered 'mobile' they also do not need running water.

"If you don't have hot and cold running water for a real hand sink you should have a container with a spigot and a bucket to catch the water." It's hard too to have city sewer if you are just setup "renting" on someone's property. When you go to the fair each year, do you see each of the carnies booths have running water? Not even close. I can agree with them needing running water, but if they have a portable wash station, and it passes code, who are we to argue with what is considered correct?

Monte's closes over the winter. He'll be back in the Spring.

Yes, Monte shuts the place down every year right around thanksgiving, and shows back up in March; has been that way since he has been there.
I've probably ate at Monte's 100 times and never got sick... The place is clean. What about food trucks in the city, or food concessions at a fair or carnival? They serve BBQ and premade sides - there isn't really any real food prep there; they have a hand sink.
I'd say Monte's is probably cleaner then Green China despite being located in a concession trailer.
