I am thinking of sending my 2 kids to Sacred Heart school next year. Anybody have an opinion or experience from this school? I've heard it's a really good school and I've also heard that the kids are snotty and the parents snobby. Looking for anyone's personal experience. Thanks.

My children attend this school and I am amazed how wonderful this school is. The teachers are awesome and really care about their students. The class sizes are smaller than public schools and the principal, Sister Jeannette is the best. The school will also have a new all purpose center including a new gymnasium this year and a pre-school. Check it out you will be glad that you did.

It is okay if your child will not need any specialized services. If special services are needed, they are unable to provide them and will invite you to take your child and your problems elsewhere. They are NOT required to test accordingly or treat and will dismiss learning disabilities as your fault for not being a good parent. I have first hand experience with this.
Public schools are required to do this by law AND to treat appropriately at no cost.
One of my children started there, had a learning disability that went undiagnosed for two years and finally was "invited" to leave. He was placed in RIII, quickly assessed with special education needs, and provided with the services to address those needs. He went on to complete high school at TBHS, and is now a sophomore at college and made the Dean's list for the third straight semester.
It is purely your choice and decision where you have your child educated. Please be aware that parochial schools may not be fully equipped to handle, no desire to handle learning barriers outside of the norm. Having a reputation of being a "great" school is easy when you don't have to deal with abnormal situations.
Good luck with your choice.

Let's ask ourselves this question. What do you call a bunch of brainwashed people who belong to an organization that shuffles their leaders around who are pedophiles and the legal system turns a deaf ear and a blind eye to all this while that same organization pays off victims to shut up?

Answer: You call those people catholics.

Prove that ANYTHING I just said is FALSE. PROVE IT!

Nuff said I agree, here is an organization that has to take from your local church to pay millions and I mean millions of dollars every year due to perverted priest abuse, shuffle, oh, shuffle yes they did from parish to parish all around the country with most of the priests sexually molesting again and again. The Catholic church is one of money, power and greed. Personally I would recommend other Christian based schools that may be a little extra drive but worth it. Sorry to the devout Catholics but it is the TRUTH. I am a Christian that believes strongly that the practices of the Catholic church draws homosexuals as priests to hide the nasty sexual preferences they have.

I believe there is a HUGE differance between a homesexual and a pedofile. Get your facts straight. There are plenty of gay and lesbian couples who raise great children and belong to all types of churches including your. A pedofile needs to be castrated and locked away for life.

If were still talking about the school, I loved it. My children were treated wonderful and you cannot find more caring teachers. The parents are urged to be a big part of the school which was great with me. My children are top in their class and I feel that it is in part of going to Sacred Heart.

As far as the other post, I will not spend time on them, but they will be in my prayers as I wish them the best in looking for a religion and peace in their hearts.

Good luck and God bless.

Lets not forget that catholics can't think for themselves either. That's the scary part. The whole church is nothing but a cult filled with lemmings that blindly follow whatever they're told, and have no problem whatsoever being fleeced for their hard earned money to support a corrupt regime.

What do you mean the Catholic church is a cult? That's nonsense! It is no different from any organized religion.

To "Nuff Sed", "Passing of the Plate", and and "Spoon Fed Nimrods", Enjoy your eternity in hell. We were discussing Sacred Heart School in Troy and not the Catholic priests that went wrong. You three need to get a life and check out all of the so called christian ministers and men of the cloth that have also taken the wrong paths and commited many, many atrocities. When you live in glass houses you shouldn't throw stones. Let's stay on the topic that was started and take some celexa please. May the Good Lord help you all.

So you know who is going to hell? Are you Jesus? If not then you yourself are a hypocrite who probably magically gets cleansed on Sunday by blabbering a couple hail mary's and thinks you're better than everyone else who doesn't belong to your corrupt catholic regime.

My son graduated from Sacred Heart a few years ago. There's no denying the education is way better than anything taught in the public school. They don't have to put up with the troublemakers like the public school. My experience though is that the big name kids get treated better than the average joe does. Especially true for Pastor Wissler.

Favoritism exists in public schools too.

So far all I've heard is that I'm going to hell, but yet NOBODY refutes what I've said because what I said was true and the truth hurts don't it?

Just to clarify, Sacred Heart goes only to the 8th grade. They must then go to public school or you took your child to a private school outside the county after 8th grade. I am not doubting their education is wonderful, but to people on this forum, they may take what you say literally, and think that your son went all the way through. So before they throw you into the wolves I thought I would help clarify.

Curious though, did you send him to public high school? We are going to a private school open house on Thursday, for our son. He will be in 8th grade then remain there for High School.

9th grade freshman science is a review for sacred heart students. It's exactly what they learned in 8th grade.

Most students are able to go right into Algebra, very few require pre-algebra.

Vocab is taught in every grade, not true for public school.

Bad behavior is not tolerated at Sacred Heart, therefore the time spent learning is productive, rather than dealing with poor behavior.

Grade scale is higher in Sacred Heart, you have to earn a 95 to get an A.

Accelerated reading required for all upper grades.

Smaller class sizes, this is pretty self explanitory.

These are things I can think of right off thr top of my head.

Yes, thank you for the clarification. We did send our son to the public high school. Very different from the Sacred Heart environment. Our daughter graduated from TBHS several years beforehand, and at the time, we were satisfied. However, the quality of students has gone down so much. There are pregnant students, some are so rude to the teachers, over crowding in the hallways, teachers sleeping with students, etc. If you can afford the money and drive for a catholic high school, I'd do it. Good luck.
