Were we talking politics...no I was commenting on the fact that people have a board to bash residents if Lincoln county, so I wanted to share my opinion, that if they don't like it here then get out.....I would love nothing more than for our town to excel and succeed, tearing down the residents isn't going to do it!!!!!

Really......... Really?
Years of failure to plan and prepare for 37% growth, combined with a 30% drop in sales tax revenue, and that is the best you can come up with?
I guess telling people to move does not require any thought, education or problem solving ability? The first step in problem solving is admitting you have one. Obviously you lack the ability to even perceive the problem, let alone figure out how to solve it!

Are you actually trying to make a difference or are you the person who complains but takes no action. Want to increase tax revenue, then I challenge you to shop and eat out only in LincolnCounty for 2 weeks. You can find everything you need for groceries and sundries here. Eating out? Well there are great restaurants all around. From Hawk Point to Winfield and from Elsberry to Moscow Mills. Any direction you go you will find good food, short wait times, and friendly service. How AMAZING are you? Will you take the challenge?

Come see the annual FREAK SHOW otherwise known as the Lincoln County Fair!
Observe the Yack Women in her moomoo skirt. If you miss it you can catch her after the fair show at Wal-Mart!
Come and see the hoosier inbred high school girls in short shorts with cowboy boots!
Observe the toothless wonders and Special Ed rejects at the beer garden every night.
Watch our "outstanding" community leaders as they drink their hearts out during Thursday Night's youth auction at the live stock barn!
Then the great finally, Saturday Night's concert complete with Wayne Feed hats, more drunks and numerous waving Confederate Battle Flags!
Post fair show available at the beer garden as after-concert fights break out!
FReak Show glad to see you will be attending the annual event this year as well,, just to document your observations (Of Course)

Hey Cloon. Sorry, but like our elected leaders, I shop in Wentzville and could give a darn about LC. LC is imploding and I have a ring side seat to document the entire self destruction. Your leaders are simply piss pour and ignorant of facts and county/city gov't. They spew a few insightful words and you local tards see them as geniuses. Shame on you and all of your ignorant ways. LC has only 2 places to go and I regret to inform you that they have chosen the downward spiral because that is all they know.

you paint this picture of it being some sort of post apocalypse mad max scenario here. I got news for you, this is a lincoln county not detroit. And on a side note. if you have no interest in helping to make this a better place to live, then we do not need you here. if you want to drive back and forth to wentzville every day, that is your business. but it seems to me it would make a lot more sense just to live there.

Perception is from various vantage points. Sorry yours is from such a dark place. I do not see how Wentzville is the answer to all of your problems, but if it makes you happy, then go for it. I do not see my happiness coming from a one mile strip of commercial shopping centers with 9% sales tax. Some people are only satisfied with buying themselves things because they do not understand the real meaning of happiness.

I see happiness as being away from a mass of people, high costs, and high crime. Maybe it's because I'm older now and have a child. I've always lived in cities or city-burbs, including Los Angeles, and do not regret leaving. I visit my relatives occasionally, and am glad to leave after maybe a week.

We are a family with a relatively high income from St Louis but my job is now near this area. We bought some land, are gardening, and we grew a small grocery store. I enjoy the quiet and watching the plentiful wildlife. We see brilliantly blue indigo buntings and there are "zillions" of purple martins and bluebirds.

It's great not hearing sirens go down the street every day or finding out my neighbor's house was burglarized. I recall stepping on a burglar's leg in the garage when I was a teen and being chased down the street in LA. I do not miss those "experiences". I can leave my car window open and find my car intact at the end of the day. It took me a year to feel comfortable with this.

I like to look at the stars and the huge yellow moon, which is impossible to see in the burbs of cities. I enjoy the friendliness of employees and the lack of glowering suspicion from other customers when I simply go to the store (I'm just a harmless looking chick, but "you never know").

Sure, there are drawbacks, but we move to places for reasons. To us, the benefits outweigh the garbage.

If you get your jollies by watching "hoosiers" at the fair, then have fun! I get my jollies by not seeing "gangbangers" who are eyeing me for possible robbery. To each his/her own.

As a taxpayer and resident, I have a legitimate reason to expect a reasonable ROI (Return On Investment) for my tax dollars. I have no problem paying slightly higher taxes provided that money is spent prudently and for the benefit of the community.

Wentzville is currently developing 3 new parks. They are also preparing plans for the development of the Parkway at 61. Their parks and rec dept offers TONS of summer programs for kids. They are building a third HS with only a $.30 increase in their building levy.

The new pool in Troy is a good thing. However given the lack of overall progress and tax base growth it is a mere drop in the bucket.

Unlike this community they have leaders with vision and purpose. Here we elect drug addicts and social misfits to public office. For whatever reason the standards and expectations in this community are FAR BELOW those of our neighbors!

I am not disputing that we see progress from out tax money spent. As far as the parks go, they are funded by SCC parks and recreation which is Wentzville, O'Fallon, St Peters, Lake St Louis, St Charles tax monies combined.

Plus Vision and Purpose cost money. No one wants to pay more taxes and no business will come without the population demographics and infrastructure needed. Basically it TAKES MONEY TO MAKE MONEY. So do we sit back or bite the bullet and pay a little more now to benefit the future.

No. The City of Wentzville passed a $.0025 storm water and parks sales tax. It is being used to pay off the bonds for three parks. A new water park, sports park and high adventure ropes/obstacle/hiking. These are not funded by STC.

Are the residents of Wentzville complaining about their tax hike as much as the complainers on here?

Probably not since most of them have actual jobs.

And an actual EDUCATION.......My new mantra is.......1 in 10!

1 in 10 with post-secondary training of some type. Low education level translates to low income which translates to HIGHER welfare roles which translates to SHRINKING sales tax and tax base.

This is NOT rocket science. The lack of education and outside investment in this community is KILLING IT!
