I am thinking of moving down there from Kokomo IN
can you answer these questions for me?
What are the crime rates down there and what kinds of crimes are popular?
What types of critters are there (snakes, spiders etc)?
Are there lots of gangs?
Is jobs easy to find?
What is the tax rates?
What are the schools like?
And if this is a bad area what are the good areas
Anything you can offer will help thanks

Gangs in Tyler.
Standard of living: poor.
Economy: sucks, unless you want to be jailer and make $11.50/hr the rest of your life.
Bad areas: to the south -Cherokee County (corrupt)
Good areas: Northern and Western Smith County
School: suck.
Crime rate: so-so, mainly law enforcement bringing drugs into the area to meet quotas.

Old ladies tape recording your business calls, postmasters going through your mail and stealing stamps.
City employees embezzling your service payments.
Crazy redkneck horse crap being written up in the papers, while missing women's story go unnoticed.

Newspapers printing lies and garbage when child molesters re-offend.
District Attorney places sex offenders on probation and covers up "good ol' boy" buddies beating their wives. Oh yeah, don't forget about the rapist cops.

You know, just good Ol' East Texas stuff. A lot of bad critters 'round here. You can expect your kid to either be date raped by some white trash or f---'ed with to the point that you'll have to move anyway.
Do yourself a favor and never spend a dime down there. And don't even contemplate moving there.

my goodness, life is how you perceive it. I live in arp, have a good job, kid doing well in school- great teachers, by the way, and am blessed to have found a great church(I am not a native of arp, but it is now my home town) The law enforcement here has been nothing but helpful to me and my family (despite my speeding ticket-my fault) and they drive through my neighborhood on duty regularly-makes a gal feel safe. It is not by any means a city though--more a community, a bedroom town. Quaint and quiet.
