I ask this becauce I was jumped in my front yard.I called 911 for help.1st I waited 8 rings for 911 to answer even checked to make sure I dialed correctly. When 911 answered I had to be redirected to the Dayton switch board because our emergency calls go to Kettering...go figure. 4 cruisers responded I counted them as I was being slammed to the ground by my throat.Soon as they pulled up they men ran out of my yard but not 1 officer noticed that.I was told when I could calm down they would speak to me Im srry but I thought I was going to be killed in my yard and they was allowing the people that had just attacked me to walk away not even trying to stop them.Several of my neighbors wittnessd me being attacked and also heard the main officer threaten to take me to jail because I asked why he wasnt doing his job.I was never offered medical care of any kind or even checked for injuries. We have left a message for our police chief but in almost a month since he hasnt found time to return our calls.Anyone else gone thru this and how can I make a change .We need officers who are willing to serve and protect and leaders who will answer thier phones

Aslong as the police allow the young people to run our streets they will.I see these same young people every nite with guns drugs doing whatever they want and from my veiw the police donot care if they did they would help .Only time I see anything done is when it makes the news. With our new mayor I hope our government does become more responsive to its people cause what we have just doesnot care about us.

I work at the Family Video on Wayne Ave. The 2district police station is less than 2 miles away from us.

We have had many occasions to call the Police. The response time has always been slow. Even when we tell them that the person in question is in the store.

Most recently we called them when we were taking the money at end of shift in the evening and found ourselves trapped in the store with the criminal outside shooting a shotgun.

It was like they waited until everything was over before they showed up.

When I lived in Dayton two of my friends' cars were broken into on seperate occasions while visiting. Both times the police responded...3-4 hours later. The homeless people would dig in my trash every day and God forbid you leave your door unlocked. I couldn't take it and finally moved back to the suburbs.

We found a small child standing in middle of road nothing but a diaper on him.He lived next door to us his mother was gone.People around the corner was suposed to be watching the child but had to use the restoom and did so while leaving the child outside by themselve. The child tryed walking home.My son saw him in the street we grabbed him to keep him safe and called the police. It took over 2 hours before they came and since everyone had already left no report was taken. This is sad and its like you say.....its like they are waiting for everything to blow over before they come. Some say its the paperwork that keeps them from doing anything. They have to detail report everything they do so in most cases they try not to have to do anything that warrents reporting.Ive noticed alot of the problem is the younger police officers who donot want to talk to you but they will gladly order you around.I think they shoulf have some sort of classes that teach them how to be respectfull to people. The dumbest question i hear them ask everytime is"why dont you call the police" I stand there in awe and ask how did you get here someone send you a bat signal you have telepathy esp cause i coulda swore i called 911 so why ask hy i donot call the police.I can now tell you why I wont nomore.Because its a waste of time and will do no good. Its sad they have let Dayton go as they have.Remember your job is to serve and protectalso mister comisioner Im still waiting on your call so we can discuss your officers lack of ability to do thier job. With this I can see where it comes from if the chief dont care why should the indians

Hello Darrin:

Sorry to hear about your contact with the DPD. Filing a complaint with Internal Affairs is a waist of time. Calling the Chief is a waist of time. I hate to inform you but the only way to make the police accountable is record the contact with a audio/video recorder because the cops are liars. I can give you a link that I spelled out events of me and my last contact with the pile of corrupt cops. It is on topix and you can read and comment if you like.

Daily Horoscope for December 29

Virgo

If something is weighing on your mind it will start to affect your health, Virgo. It might make you feel tired or depressed, or it could dominate your thoughts. You know what you should do about it, of course, but it seems like too much effort or you want to pretend that it doesn't exist. Unfortunately, this escapist attitude won't make the problem go away and might even make it more tricky by the time you finally decide to tackle it.
