No Thanks......from what I have seen, most of these town hall meetings accomplish nothing but promote violence and barroom brawls.

fights broke out in Flordia, In New Mexico, protesters were encouranged to bring guns. More of the same in ST. Louis. What is being accomplished?

People are pretty set on their ideas. A town hall meeting is not going to change anyones mind. It only reinforces a already made up mind.

Cozy, you must be one of those that are ok with all the changes and sit home thinking oh well, what can I do. They are wanting more of you to not care so the bills get passed. Are you nuts?

Just what I thought......a meeting not to got too. All it will be is a one sided event and if you just so happen to disagree......God forbide.

I guess I am nuts for caring about other people other than myself. Go to your meeting and pump each other up, thats all its for anyway.

extrin asked a question and I would like to know also, who is the sponsor?

My neighbor came over yesterday and was telling me how Americans will be wearing a path to the White House (lawn) and how big the tea parties are. 3 people including me got up and walked away. We could only take so much of his pushy arrogant attitude.
Talk about a brick wall encasing all his thoughts.....
Scary to listen to. I won't even mention (by name) the "news" station that has him all pumped up.
I think he is largely responsible for how I feel about "that station".

And he wants to ride bikes to Arkansas.....suuure

While I don't agree with the disrespect being shown at these meetings nor do I condone the violence at all, I will say this...If it weren't for the town hall meetings the health care bill would have already been passed. I'm for reform as much as anyone else but I think the current package they are presenting needs some more work. And we have as much right to be against it as people have been against any of the previous administrations' agendas. People should keep their tempers in check though, and voice their concerns without acting like a 5 year old. Jeez, it's almost as bad as some of the POA meetings we've had in my neighborhood. There's no excuse for making an a** of yourself. It's counter-productive and embarrassing.

totally agree, I would like to see a constructive Town meeting where both sides are represented. There are some people who are undecided on how they feel about the proposed plan, it COULD be a learning tool for them. How can you discuss the options when both sides are screaming and cussing, or when only one side is presented.

This could have been said in the 1800's by the American Indians.
