the DEMOCRAT controlled congress has changed the 25 year old crack cocaine laws-- the democrat controlled congress says the law was RACIAL. their reasoning was--the more severe penaly for selling crack cocaine was more severe than selling powder cocaine.-- they said this penalty was RACIAL-- it caused more blacks to be in prison for long terms for selling the crack version of cocaine. they said the whites that mostly sell the powder version get shorter sentences.---- WELL NOW-- lets have a look at this reasoning-- crack cocaine is way more addictive than powder cocaine-- more blacks sell the crack version, hmmmm is someone forcing them to sell the more addictive crack--I think not . it is the drug dealer that chooses what to sell.--- congress says the prison terms are unfair to blacks-- ok- 2 drug dealers are arrested one black one white, they BOTH sell powder cocaine, they BOTH get 5 year senteces.---2 more are arrested, one white one black, BOTH sell crack cocaine, they BOTH get 25 year sentences.--- HELLO what is RACIAL ABOUT THE SENTENCES.-- so now what has happened the DEMOCRAT CONTROLLED administration has lowered the penalty for selling crack cocaine, to the same as selling powder cocaine.---- also raised the amount of drugs the seller can posses--HOW GREAT-JUST LOVELY-- this is a fine example of what future rulings we can expect from the present administration... does this possibly give you a CLUE why the NEW BLACK PANTHERS were not prosucuted, for voter intimidation.-- get ready for lots more drug dealers to be selling--

For those of us that can read, comprehend and see past he end of our noses.
It sure makes sense when you eliminate that innate hatred and look at the facts.

All drugs should be legal.
Not because they are good.
But...because they are one more thing that is just none of the goobermint's dammbidness.
There's an infinite number of ways in which you can make a bad decision and get dead. Why should drugs be any different?

No one has asked the question of why the sentencing wasn't changed in the other direction. If there was supposed to be parity, why wasn't the penalty for posession of powder cocaine raised to that of crack cocaine?

If powder cocaine is the drug of the "haves" and crack is the drug of the "have nots...of have very little" then is stands that the sentences would be disparate. But in the case where equality is forced, the default is not to raise the penalty for the "haves" but to lower it for the "have nots."

Hmm, Meph says let the penalty go. You say raise it.
Maybe it's a middle of the road approach?
