Mike was a good friend of mine, I respected him as a great man with a even greater heart. He is only memories now. But I still say leave the girl alone, She will suffer enough without the government getting involved. It was an accident!!! No matter how much we punish her it will never bring back my friend and fellow rider.

My prayers are with both families . Both of those families lives are forever changed . I also pray for the girl involved because her life will never be the same . I pray she finds a way to forgive herself because she made a mistake . we are ALL human and it could have happened to any one of us. I pray for that mans wife and kids that they can find comfort in knowing he is in heaven. I also pray that neither family reads any of these horrible post from people saying she should be behind bars, saying she should pay and are acting like the world is out to get people who ride motorcycles . I wouldnt wish to be on either end of this situation and pray I never have to. Maybe some people should put themselves in both parties involved shoes and then maybe learn to keep your mouths shut . The fact remains we were not in the drivers seat of either vehicle and all that should be offered to these families are our prayers and keep your opinions to yourself. I bet if it was your family you would hope for the same. It is a bad area where the wrecked happened I live very close by and travel it several times a week to visit my relatives . I am moved to tears about this because I cant even began to imagine how this feels .

R.I.P. fellow rider. Prayers for everyone involved. We as motorcycle riders know that their are inherent dangers that come with riding them. We know that everytime we go out on our bikes anything can happen. That's why you must make sure to tell your loved ones that you love them every chance you get. Tommorrow's not a given. Everybody remember to look twice and check your blind spots often cause you never know what could be there.

My prayers go out to both the families,to the family of the gentleman who lost his life in the accident as well as the young girl who was driving the vehicle,I too live in the area and know these roads very well.I do feel very sorry for the loss of this man's life. However,I don't think this young girl woke up thinking,I think I will go out and cause a wreck today.I am a very compassionate person and I feel sorry for both families.Do I think people need to pay more attention when driving Absolutely.Do I think people lack paying closer attention to motorcycles YES...My husband rides and my prayer is every time he leaves the drive way on his bike...Lord travel with him and keep him safe. But Accidents do happen very sad but true...I pray I am never faced with either side of this.I pray for the young girl who is forever scared because she caused the death of this man.I pray for the family of this man that they can find peace and comfort in their time of loss.God Bless them all.

All you people that are judging this girl really need to stop and think before you speak.. You were not involved in the accident and I am sure you are not investigaters for the hwy patrol. The trooper has investigated and I think he knows a little more than you.. Yes I am very sorry for the man's family, and I truly feel sorry for Casey this is something she will have to live with and I know from personal experience what hell she will go thru. I think those of you who judge without knowing the real facts should get down on your knees and ask God to forgive you for your judgement and pray that a tragic event like this never happens to you.

On the way to the beach two motorcycles were weaving in and out of traffic at such a high rate of speed that I knew another fatality was on the horizon.

I was about to call 911 when they both took the next exit going about 10 miles above the speed limit.(75)

Just yesterday, I was on a local street in K-ville when a motorcycle weaved in and out and around cars to be the first at the stoplight. I made a "No" gesture with my finger swaying back and forth.
I was livid that the motorcycle swayed side to side..in..out...in...out..unti l it was first.

Some...not all..cyclists try to beat the cars and that is the problem...

I will have my camera in hand to record these incidents in the future...and will do so as only as a passenger....

We all need to drive defensively...watch out for the other driver...

We all need to put those Cell Phones away when driving!!

My sympathies for both of the victims in this accident.

Who is to say Mike would have met his death in some other way that day. When God says that it's time to go you go. The intersection needs a large stop sign with a blinking light, because you don't see it coming out of Level Plains. From the Scout side it is easy to see you are going to be stopping. Try driving a school bus through there everyday and people not knowing they need to stop. Maybe the state will see changes need to be made. Please pray for both families.

I am sickened when I read some of the cruel things that are being said about this young lady. Obviously everyone of these ignorant people have never done anything wrong. This is a terrible situation for both families. Yes someone lost a family member and I am so deeply sad for them. Other the other hand this young lady has to live with this for the rest of her life. Could you imagine? How awful this must be. Everyone is so quick to judge that she was on her phone or putting on makeup etc. and yet she said this was not the case. It was a pure and honest mistake and yes we have all made them not one person on this earth is perfect! Come on everyone quit being so mean and instead how about stopping and saying a prayer for both families they both are hurting.
*And by the way I have met this young lady and she is a very delightful person.

Let me start off by sayingthat no one on here knows what happen when the accident happen cause you was not with either one of these people. This is a bad ine\tersection i know cause i live on this road and go thru this intersection 3 or 4 times aday. There is alot traffic here and you cant see anything coming around the curve.Speed limits are too high.I fell sorry for both families because i know both of them and this will be hard on both sides. We need to pray for them not put them down.So lets be careful what we say.I dont know why FOX 8 would have an open comment forum for something that is so heart breaking as this is so people who has no clue can get on here and say stupid comments. I pray nothing like this ever happens to you cause you are not mature enough to handle it.Both lives are changed for ever one in heaven and ond here to carry on.SO lets pray for them not put them down.

I feel sorry for some of you people that are saying such mean and nasty things about Kasie. She is a wonderful girl. You dont know her and you dont know what happened. Our family is suffering right along with the Lewis family who I might say has been nothing but kind to Kasie. I pray that you never have to go thru what the family is going thru right now with one of your own. Me, I have gone thru this 2 times and both times it was just a horrible accident. I agree that Fox 8 should not even allow some comments to be posted and I fully intend on letting them know how I feel. They should screen them. I hope with all my heart after going thru what she has been thru that she never sees these comments. Thank you for all the ones that are not judging. And for the record I would say the same things if it were YOUR family member instead of mine. The BIBLE says "judge not". Remember that one way or another we all are going to be judged one day and I dont think you really want to meet your maker with this kind of additude. So you might want to think about that before you speak.

What about the family of the man she killed. Like someone said you cant fix stupid she pulled out and killed him not the other way around.
I go to school with Kasie, and as it happens she asked to see the man's family as soon as she woke up in the hospital. His son came in and told her that it was alright and if his father were alive he'd realize it was an accident and just want her to be happy. So to answer your question the family of the man she "killed" forgave her and probably realize that at 17 she is going to have a hard time recovering from something like this. She has her whole life ahead of her to remember what she did, and is paying the consequences not only with the charges but with the guilt that she'll have to battle at such a young age. I highly doubt she planned to start her senior year with being "stupid" as you call it. Think about it.

How did she look and not see a motorcycle with headlights. Girl you need to come clean and tell the truth.
It was 5 in the afternoon and with the sun shinning bright how the heck was she supposed to see a motorcyclists headlight really....You need to not pass judgement bc you never know what accident you may be in. The only judge is God and he will handle it as it should be so leave this poor 17 yr old alone and go pick on someone else
