Well, great for the union workers. While they complain and want higher wages and more vacation, these increases in overhead, along with negociations will drive expenses even higher and they will have an even harder time competing on bids for jobs! Enjoy the new pay scale and vacation while you still have your jobs.

This company will be out of the bus business I'm estimating in less than 2 years. These workers should be ashamed of themselves for voting for the contract. The cost of jobs in america can be attributed to the union workers. They are a bunch of greedy men and women. This company had been a great company for a very long time but when they sold it went south and continues to do so.

That percentage and number is wrong. There are only about 50%, probably less, of the TBB employees that are members of the UAW, so the Union is not reporting this accurately. It was 80% of the members of the UAW that voted to approve the new contract, not 80% of the employees. The employees that are non-members are not allowed to vote.

Guntoter, logical, John in High Point and contract sucks....you are 100% spot on...wish the public could have heard and seen the UAW members' behavior when all the negotiations were going on and the rumors that they spread about the negotiations out on the shop floor. They behave like out-of-control children. They, the UAW, are ruining TBB.

UAW...give the whole story...and the truth. Those UAW members that did not vote to approve the contract should withdraw your membership.

Keep trying to get more and more so that they will move the entire thing to Mexico.

The so called wage increase is 60 cents in the next 4 years. My husband has been working for Thomas Built Buses for 21 years. The new pay progression scale states he is at the top of the scale so he will never get a raise. The vaction scale consist of the employees now get Veteran's day off.

The story that was reported was infact FALSE. I'm not blaming FOX 8, because that's what they were told. The 41% of Thomas shop floor workers that are pro-union were able to vote on the contract. The rest of us did not have any say in the matter.
There are 59% of employees that are not union members, but we still get labled as union, because the company is a unionized company.
I, for one, understand that we are well paid, and that the company will give what they can afford, and still make money to stay in business. That's the only way to keep building buses here in NC.The UNION idiots, only want more for themselves, and not worry about having to raise the price of these buses to compensate. Which will lead to lost orders, and to lost jobs!
Get a grip!!!and quit whinning about what you want, and be happy with what you've got!

False statement, 80% did not vote and agree on the contract! Call the UAW office and ask for records, but then again, they'd lie to you also, to make it look like the UAW is some type of power house, when it is nothing more than a modern day Mickey Mouse Club!

My union job is the best job I have had in my 28 years of working. Being in the union means I don't have to kiss my bosses butt to get overtime or a raise. And I have a voice so I don't get ran over at work by my boss. Also I can go to the bathroom when needed......

For real, I buy American WHENEVER POSSIBLE! I like American quality.A lot.Sorry you guys lost your furniture makers. The name"Thomasville Furniture"used to mean something, at least in Texas.Lord knows where the stuff is being made now, some s@@@hole where quality means nothing, is my guess.
