HAZLETON A homeowner in the city with a $30,000-per-year job and a home valued at $100,000 could expect to pay another $235 in taxes and fees next year, according to a budget proposal Mayor Lou Barletta released to council on Monday.

Fight taxes increases. It's a giant scam that is part of the reasons why people are losing their homes and unable to afford healthcare. Apathy by the public is something they COUNT ON.
They DO have money. They have more than enough money. Government people are NOT there to serve us, they are there to serve their own interests, part of which is get a big salary and overly staff so their job is so easy and so laid back.
Ask for payroll/benefit numbers, and demand major cut-backs in staff AND benefits.
IS IT NOT A FACT that most of us are paying hefty premiums for healthcare, OR, deductibles/premiums got so high that we gave up our beneifts?
In the meantime, city government salaries, staffs and benefit plans do not mirror what we have (AND THEY SHOULD).
If you permit them to tax you unfairly, they will only tax you more. How long until you are force to leave your home?
