I am shocked at the choice the school board chose John Prince over Coach Hooker. I am white so it is not about race. Coach Hooker has the years and experience, HANDS DOWN! That was one of the worst choices that they have ever made. John Prince has had mad fits, PHS. I know this for a fact. If we, as a community, do not get new school board members we are going to be in trouble. Are we here for who has the most money or for our kids' education. Dottie Jones is the worst choice for a school board member that I can possibly think of. I have been cut of school for some years now but I will never forget her telling me that I would never be nothing and I was a senior in high school when she told me this. Well, Miss Dottie, I was never one to let anyone bring discourage me and I am very successful. When I graduate with my doctorate this year, I will send you an invitation. I don't want to be mean or degrading to anyone because that is not what responsible and professional adults do. I am just terrified that our leadership is illequipped and is not in it for the right reasonsble. My daughter graduated from PHS with as a Beta Club member and Cum Laude and since she had coaches for teachers,(that watched replay games in class) she has to take remedial math in college. She also had John Prince. This is not an example of molding our students and getting them ready for college. Coach Hooker taught me in school. He was effective and efficient. He also has the education and people skills to be an awesome administrator. The small town politics are killing this town. Countries have been overthrown but this small town cannot take control of their own kids' education. The statistics that are out there that shows us as a success are great but what about all the children that are being left behind? People start standing for something or you will always fall for nothing. That is a quote someone told me years ago and I live by it.

first of all the school board did not do the hiring the director of schools did. But that was after three different sets if interviews, and one of the interviews was in front of a large panel. I think both Ricky or John would of made a good one. But it's pretty clear John must of stood out more in his interview than Ricky or Doug did, but the board did not make the decision.

well whoever made the decision it was the wrong one! I agree totally with concerned citizen! John Prince treated both of my children rudely with his off and smart a$$ comments trying to be funny....he needs to worry about running his own home life(which needs alot of work) before he trys to run the middle school.

I agree with concerned citizen and well that was a huge mistake. John Prince is a cursing machine and treats his students like crap. Any teacher that curses children and throws stuff in the classroom cause he has anger problems, needs to be fired not hired in an upper administrative position. For the director of schools to even compare Ricky and John as educators is a disservice to our community. There is no comparison at all. Three interviews, wow. What did John do, throw a chair at them. lol

she was not the only person that interviewed then they sat in front of a panel of interviewers so John must of out shined the others. I am sure the director of schools is very capable of picking the best for the job, or she would not be in position she is.

i will say cursing does bother me that much, I do feel they should not do it. But with saying that if you don't think coach hooker does not curs and though fits you really don't know him at all. Either way John is there to stay

Where were you when the school board was elected? Maybe you need to run when it is election time again. Most of the school board members do not have children in school. One member works in Milan and her children go to Milan but has a voice in our children's education.I think there should be a limit on the terms that a person can serve on the school board and a requirement they have children in school.

Baloney. John is the perfect choice. He was far and away the best interview of the three, and the consensus choice of the advisory group.

I call all 3 of these guys friends, some closer than others...

The middle school needs some work (compared to the high and elementary... a LOT of work); Doug is too close to the problem because he's already there. Ricky's already doing the job he's suited for; working with kids.

John will grow into this and be just fine.

I think you were on pills when you typed this. Get off them and you might actually not have to work in a prison for a living.

I am very flattered that you think you know who I am. A prison? Sounds like a lovely and interesting job but unfortunately, that's not my occupation. However, if they are looking for an accountant, I would love to apply. I am so very sorry that you are upset about the facts. As for pills, I think that could be the answer to some things but I think I will stick with my vitamin C. Thanks for the comment though.

I think you meant "Start standing for something or you will always fall for anything."

Unless you did mean to say what you said. And made no sense.

Isn't that hilarious. You are trying to deflect. What's funny is that you know I know who you are. You know you only make 55k a year and spend 4k of that in gas driving to your prison job. You know I know everything about you and you have no clue I'm one of your best friends. I've listened to you gripe forever about how you can't get a job in your hometown. Jackson wouldn't even keep you. Just pitiful to be on a site complaining about someone when you are the one who has the issues. I don't even like John Prince, but I would have picked him over you. why don't you stop before you end up costing one of your loved ones their job.

I agree. All three of them curse. But coach hooker needed to stay at the high school, because all the kids love him an he needs to be at the high school.(:

Alrighty then. You are this person's friend? I don't think so. You sound like you may have some issues yourself. Well, all I can say is that this person you are referring you should drop you as a friend if he or she has any sense. I also bet you have some skeletons in your closet and hopefully that person won't respond back to you and take their anger out on you like you did them. Please get some help. It sounds like you have let some long time jealousy build up. lmbo
