Just wondering how much longer the local yokel law enforcement are gonna continue to allow all the local illegals to roam free around town. Hell, they get drunk, whip up on their local women, get arrested and then spend weekends in jail. Same for drunk driving, even the ones that have been arrested more than once for DUI. How can they obtain legal drivers licenses if they are illegal? Why do the cops, prosecuters and judges keep turning them loose instead of reporting them to ICE? Why do companies like Martin Paving keep hiring them, then tips them off to stay home when ICE makes the routine checks. How come the local law enforcement let them continue to break the law? Just wondering, perhaps someone with a little more sense can enlighten me.

I do have to agree with you there, sadly. It just pisses me off that they are allowed to break the law and get away with it when citizens get their asses hauled in. Not saying lets let the citizens get away with crime, I am saying for the friggin cops to do their job and arrest the dang illegal lawbreakers instead of turning their head.

Im in law enforcement. ICE changes their policies pretty frequently. Sometimes they will come pick up illegal immigrants from jail to deport them, but most times they wont. ICE is a federal agency and if you have been watching the news then you know that the current administration is pretty lenient on illegal immigration.

As far as dealing with the average illegal immigrant from a local law enforcement standpoint, any time you come into contact with them they "no habla ingles," and give false names. And while being in the country illegally is a crime, in Tennessee it's just a federal crime, which local law enforcement do not usually have the means to enforce. This is why Arizona making being in their state illegally is important. It gives the local law enforcement there the ability to enforce their borders. Of course the liberals in government are screaming "harassment" and "racial profiling" but that's another post...

Really what needs to happen is for Tennessee, and other states to follow Arizona's lead and make it a STATE law to be in the country illegally a crime. Also ICE needs to do a better job of reaching out to local law enforcement to let us know of their ever-changing policies and procedures.

Two questions; What administration has been tough on illegals, and what would be your guess as to the political affiliation of most of those employing most of the illegals? Kinda doubt its those bleeding heart liberals.

Good answer, "I know". Your answer makes sense to me. That does not, however, excuse the local folks from letting an illegal spend weekends in jail when he is convicted. Nor does it excuse the locals from letting a convicted DUI 2nd offender spend the weekends in jail. What does giving a false name have to do with it. Fingerprint scanning? All I am saying is if they are wrong, then keep their butts locked up.
By the way, what is an immigration bond? Seem that if an illegal gets caught, ICE will realease them on a $6000 bond to show up for their deportation hearing.

I am in law enforcement and everytime we arrest an illegal ICE says that if they didn't commit a felony they will not deport them. That's just how they are. As far as them only gettin a few days in jail.......that is up to the judge not us.

The way I see it, both the Democrats and the Republicans do not want to enforce the border because in, say 20 years, there will be a HUGE segment of the population who are the children of illegal aliens but that are US citizens themselves with the right to vote. I think both the Democrat and Republicans are afraid of losing this demographic. I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat. Allegiance to a political party is a very narrow-minded way to be involved in politics. I prefer to vote for the candidate instead of the party. I just happen to be conservative.

It is a damn shame we can't get a judge with a backbone and a set of balls to do what is right. Thousands of folks get killed every year and these friggin bleeding heart judges keeps giving the DUI offenders second and third and forth chances. How about locking them up after the first chance? How dumb do you have to be to not understand a drunk is gonna keep driving as long as you don't have him (or her) locked up? It seems that criminals have more rights than the victims do. Judges, come on and do the right thing for a change. Lock folks up when they commit crimes. Jails overcrowded? Too bad, if they were not criminals, then they would not have to worry about being in a country club. Do away with the TV's, air conditioning, and creature comforts of life. Make jail so friggin miserable that folks will not want to be there, and damn sure not be willing to make a second trip there.

Now, how dare you insinuate that the fine upstanding folks who frequent the Elks would dare to get drunk and drive!!!!! Man, you really have the nerve is say that all the fine gentry in this country would actually rub elbows with the police chief, city and county mayors, law enforcement while they were getting drunk and then driving!!!!! Shame on ya, hell, it is not their fault that all the law enforcement are busy in other parts of town when the club closes. After all, it would not be right for the drunk movers and shakers of Gibson County to be arrested for DUI, now would it? Just think of what all the poor folks would say.

It never ceases to amaze me each morning when I go thru the school zone to see a Trenton policeman out there. Just what is he doing besides holding up traffic? Not checking for license, registration, and insurance. Hell, I know of at least 6 students that are unlicensed and driving to school each day. In addition, we are not counting the number of parents who have already been arrested for DUI, got a suspended license, and driving each day. Why not do some traffic checks while you have the traffic held up out there each day? You might even be surprised at the amount of dope you would probably turn up, lol.

Chunkymonkey what rock did you crawl out from under? A policeman is directing traffic and slowing down traffic for our kids to get safely to school. You must not have any children or you would appreciate the traffic tie up at our school zones. Maybe if you are in that big of a hurry you need to get your butt up earlier and leave the house earlier to get to your job (If you even have a job). What a nutcase you must be!

The Police is keeping the kids safe. If you know of at least 6 students that are driving unlicensed,JUST a IDEA,WHY not tell the police the plate #,what they drive, who they are? Help out for a change,be useful. I bet the police would tell you thanks. It would help alot more than you just posting on here, dont you think?
