Consider the cost of diesel fuel, fertilizer, equipment, land, insurance, seed, and property tax. What do you have left? Hard work and you can have a lot of fun working yourself broke.

U also forget that people like plumbers, for instance, work thier butt off in the heat, so u can have indoor plumbing. They don't get subsidies for working their ass off. Nor does anyone else, like construction workers, so u have a roof over your head. What about companies like, Charmin? Do they receive subsidies? U couldn't wipe your ass if they didn't work in the heat. What about electricians? None of these people get subsidies. Why don't these people receive subsidies? I have to pay taxes to work. The farmer doesn't pay taxes on the heavy equipment they run on the road.

yes they do pay taxes on that equip. ,also pay taxes on that seed to plant by the way do you have any idea what a bag of seed costs to plant 70 acres of corn ,and I realize thats same compared to the names on the list of whom I know each well it would take close to 7000.00 just to plant this not counting the fuel or spraying .Do your math farming is a way of life not a good job been there done that got the shirt .I really don't believe this should have been posted to start with because some of the ones on the list are very good down home people and that money is their concern, would you want every one knowing how much money you have in your savings account .

IF you are so concerned with government "handouts" how about you whine about the people who sit on their butt all day and do nothing while they get free healthcare, free medications, free food, free cell phones, free lunches, etc, etc, etc! Those people provide NO service yet you want to get on here and fuss about farmers who actually work and provide a service. MAybe you should study up on all the facts and quit trying to stir the pot!

Stir the pot sir? Im making for intellectual thought and conversation. I despise those who live off the government checks, and do nothing but talk about their sore back. However, when you look at the size of those farm payments, the 11-12k those folks are getting, looks humbily small dont you think?

no Timmy farming is not a small business it is that largest and most important business there is. If the farmers fail we go hungary. The farmers are a huge part of what keeps this great nation a float. I would like to see you try to live without them.
We would not have to "live without them". The wastefull lazyass ones would go broke and the harder working more efficient ones would buy their stuff. Then it would work like every other small business in this country. And yes, unless you have at least 1,000 employees that work directly for you, you have a small business. It is time to get this country's farmers off of welfare. This is part of the reason the freaking country is broke...crybaby, lazyass farmers working a few months a year always with their hand out all the time.

Shut the fk up! Consider the cost of equipment and labor in any business you idiot. Try owning and running a business that is open 7 days a week 365 days a year. Until you get up off your lazy farmer ass with your 5 month a year off every day it rains or is muddy farming business, with your welfare stained hand stuck out all the time then just shut the fk up. You have absolutely no idea what real work is, real work that has to happen every day regardless of the weather or what day of the week it is or what time of the day it is you lazy sack of sht.

And when someone mentions how much the government subsidizes why do you automatically start hollering "Teabagger". Some subsidies are needed, but not all of them. I am a Teabagger, and don't have a problem with the farmers getting a little help. Have you tried to fuel up one of the tractors/combines/trucks that they use to make our lives easier? They use more in fuel than most of the folks in Gibson County earn in a year put together. Just for your information, and since you do not have the intelligence to research the Tea Party, we do not knock everything the government does. We are for smaller government, we are for people getting off their asses and earning a living, we are for smaller government, and mainly we are for living a self-sufficient, free from governtment control lives.

The real question is when was the last time most of the owners sat the seat of a tractor. Its like Fincher, family farmer family farmer Bull LAWYER whoose father sits on the local bank board. The largest majority of the subsities go to large corprate farmers and not true small family farmers.
Look at the Shoafs in milan farming 10's of thousands of acres. Lets limit the size of these farms that qualify what a tax savings. I watched my step father bust his a** to farm 800 acres. Yah family farmers my butt but that all they want you to think about when the powers that be pass another big business givaway.

Thank God for American FARMERS! Farming is NOT cheap and if they weren't subsidized our food supply would suffer and you just may not have a "chicken in every pot" so to speak. Be happy some things are still, "Made in America!"

Just another welfare program. What about the people that work hard everyday at their job. Which is JOB (just over broke), when they get their pay. Bubba they work their butt off. NO extra money for them. They have gas bills too. When money comes from the goverment it's welfare. Welfare is welfare, no matter whose name is on the check!!!!!!!

They take millions and complain when low income people have to get on food stamps. If I was a farmer I would vote for Mitt also.

I would not mind so much but a lot of so called farmers are just rich land barons. The people they pay low wages to are the real farmers. 1 man does not farm 50000 acres. A large portion of the money goes to investment groups and not the family farmers they cry about when a new farm subsidies bill comes around. What about Congressman Fincher Family farmer NOT, LAWYER who's daddy sits on the board of the bank. What about the Shoafs in Milan how many lawyers in that bunch.

I am not putting the farmers down but I do know for a FACT that one works his help into the ground and could care less if they fall dead. He pays them chump money for what they do and he probably wouldn't even get his sorry ass off the combine to go their funeral if they did die. Pitiful. He should be ashamed of himself and he is the most money hungry person I have ever met and wouldn't spend a dime if he was starving.

I guess that answers my question about how they pay for bulldozers and trackhoes on their farms pushing down every tree and fencerow in sight! They are getting paid by the government, using our taxpayer dollars to spend thousands of dollars paying bulldozer and trackhoe operators for the countless hours of work they're doing! Ridiculous!!!!!
