I just recieved a ticket in the mail and it is not my vehicle or my license plate number. How do you fight this sort of injustice?
According to the letter, I have to request a hearing before a hearing officer. Take time off of work and lost wages for someone else's mistake.

I have been driving thru new Miami for 22 yrs. I got a so called speeding ticket. The limit goes immediately for 55 to 35. It's bullshit. In my opinion, NM has always been an armpit of a place. It's roads and businesses are subpar. This is a way for the city to get extra revenue. Let's see if the monies are used to improve a below average town!

I would never consider spending a dime in that town!

46mph in a 35, are u kidding me. I've traveled that path thru New Miami for years and have always drove at safe, appropriate speeds there and everywhere else. I also have spent $1000's of dollars in that town on gas, food etc. I will never again grace your little town nor will I ever spend a dime at one of your businesses. I hope all the small businesses appreciate the villages actions when they are out of business. I hope my little town where my business is never gets this stupid and greedy. The ticket payments even go to Cleveland Ohio for their cut of the money as well. New Miami doesn't even process the paperwork. What a rip!!!!

Thats why i left got tired of having to tie my stuff down and sit in my back yard at night in the dark on guard. Maybe they should put camras up for that first. Oh they are only looking out for there selves and not the people lol. I still have to go see my family from time to time but i dont have buy anything. I get it before i go. So im with the rest of you buy your items else where. They will see when it really hits the pocket.

Was in New Miami for the first time to look at a house for sale, see the are and consider taking up residence there. I was doing 46 in what I thought was a 55 zone straight, I guess the speed limit changed because I received a 46 in 35 ticket. Well long story short I have taken any house in New Miami off my to buy or look at list, I will never be back in your pathetic town again. I will look at it as a 95 dollar education

The speed cameras are biased. They are owned by the company that directly receives the profit from your very hard earned $95.00. You better believe the company will send out as many $95.00 tickets as it can after they illegally tap into your personal infromation at the Ohio BMV. Stay away from seedy New Miami.

I received one of their B.S. tickets. Went to "court" on a SATURDAY. The snobby so called magistrate already pre-determined that you are "liable"!!!!!! I had evidence to support my case but "it" would not allow this. So I was charged an additional $25 for his time. Then I was handed a piece of paper telling me how to appeal. Per the paper it stated that you had to have your case "perfected" within 30 days Through The Hamilton County Court of Common Please. Notice the spelling of PLEAS. I contacted them and they told me that they do not handle cases out of that town or Butler County. One word for ya boys SCAM!!!!!!!

People that keep saying that they will not buy anything in New Miami are not that bright about where they are. Unless you are buying at Party Supply,Reds,Family Dollar or one of the bars then you are not hurting the village of New Miami that much. Thornton's Marathon,Couch's and those places are in St. Clair Township! What you are doing is hurting the township police, fire, life squad and the 2 schools in the township. Edgewood and New Miami are both in St. Clair Twonship, not Trenton or New Miami. There is no need to be going 10+ over the speed limit any way.

Got a $96 traffic camera ticket...I encourage everyone who has gotten one of these tickets to TAKE YOUR REVENUE OUT OF NEW MIAMI Ohio. There are many other places to shop and buy gas! I PROMISE it will be the last dollar I ever spend in their ghetto!!!!!

The truth is, drivers CAN'T challenge the Optotraffic-issued "Civil Citation" in the so-called "Administrative Hearing," which, in reality, is just like a "Mayor's Court." Not part of the county court system at all.
After her "hearing" Lara Rodeffer appealed to Butler County Court of Common Pleas; won her appeal... not based on the abysmal abuse of citizens' rights, such as the Hamilton County judge's ruling against Elmwood Place– which, BTW, runs an Optotraffic scamera system identical to New Miami's– but because New Miami failed to produce a transcript of the hearing. Technicality, but unfortunately, not justice.
This scam will continue until: the Ohio Legislature passes the bill now in committee to ban these damn things statewide; the Legislature passes a bill eliminating all "Mayor's Courts" in favor of real courts, eliminating the kangaroo-court "Administrative Hearing" in New Miami; or New Miami residents vote out the five people who passed unjust Chapter 77 and ordinances that enforce it, and vote in people who will rescind it and restore justice. New Miami is already being boycotted, it's reputation as one of these Optotraffic "Speed Scamera Traps" is now nationwide. The town council's greed and foolishness will come back around on them. Real justice has a way of doing that.

Most of these comments are complaining about the cameras catching them BREAKING THE LAW. If you don't want to pay $95, then obey the law. What difference does it make how they catch you breaking their laws? Regardless of how they catch you doing it, you broke the law! Stop blaming what you did on others; you are responsible for your own actions.
