In the worst of situations,I havent experienced a power outage for more than a few hours even in an underdeveloped country like India!
I cant beleive we live in one of the most advanced countries and we have to go without power for more than a week! We lost power last Monday at 3:30pm.!!!

I hate my decision of living in society hill. We are like a forgotten step child. We have a newborn and can't even bring the baby home. PSE&G sucks and what is the mayor doing,. Everyone I know now has power.

I agree we did not have power from 29th around 3pm until 6th Nov at 2am. The plus side was when hurricane sandy had destroyed homes and left many homeless, without water and power, many of us in society hill atleast had a safe home with hot water and cooking gas. I understand it was too cold with the falling temperatures but definitely a tonne better than many others suffering even without these. With such a magnitude of hurricane i cannot say if places like India as someone quoted will be able to be back in a week's time. I have faced the tsunami which hit Chennai and i know first hand how the relief effort works there. Kid you not it was pathetic chaos.
So appreciate the efforts put in by many people whether they were politicians, social workers, public servants, general public and businesses alike towards Sandy. Everyone came together.
I agree a time frame would have helped us all from the wait but again even before Sandy hit we were told this will be a long route to recovery and it was.
I hope the nor'eastern doesn't destroy the work done. Stay warm folks.
