Help with having speed limits changed?

Is anybody up for helping me get two speed limits changed? The roads in question are Darrah Ln. and Princeton Pike. I understand that reasonable speed limits are necessary to punish drivers who drive irresponsibly fast, but both are posted 25 mph which is just obscenely slow. Speed limits shouldn't be either too fast OR too slow. Neither is a side street (which commonly have the 25 mph posted), and Princeton pike is actually a 'minor arterial'(aka major road). It may be the most ridiculous 25 mph zone I have ever seen. Well, close.

Also, other surrounding roads of the same type are posted much higher at 35 to 40-45. It's worse on Princeton pike...even going 30 or 35 feels like a crawl and will get many cars bunched up behind you. Even my mother, a slow driver, drives 35-40 there. I find when the limit is set appropriately, traffic flows much better because more people are going close to the same speed. For example, I rarely see people going 10 or more over the very reasonable 55 mph limit on Business 1 through Lawrenceville (up to the Acme); usually most are going in the 52-58 mph bracket. Similarly, the speed limit is 40 mph on 206 through Lawrenceville, and there's not much of a speeding problem there.

I think 35 mph on Darrah Ln. and 40 mph on Princeton pike (with 35 perhaps in the more crowded later area) would be fair and reasonable, as well as equal to similarly posted roads. Princeton pike probably has an 85th percentile speed of 45, with 40 on Darrah ln., but 40 and 35 are reasonable enough. Both have schools, so school zones would be okay, but a permanent 25 is just ridiculous. Anyway, I tried to pursue this earlier but the traffic engineer in the area blew me off, so I figure if we can go to the town meeting and convince the board, they might change it.

Please give comments or ways to contact you, etc.
