Now people are getting arrested because it is cold and dogs lack the necessary amount of fur to survive. What next, blaming owners because dogs get old and die? Stupid laws are stupid.

Despite having Ďfurí coats, pets rely on their caregivers to protect them from the elements. It's common sense, donít leave pets outdoors when the temperature drops below freezing. Certain dogs are more affected by the cold than others, particularly dogs with short fur like Pit Bulls, or Greyhounds. The woman was justly arrested, not only did the dog freeze to death, but she wasn't feeding the animal or giving it adequate shelter, that is neglect.

So it is the property owners fault when it gets cold. Besides, I thought the ARA nuts were for animal freezing and starving to death. This seems to be a bit of a contradiction with their stance on hunting.

But I'm wondering why all TNR advocates aren't being rounded up when their cats that they re-release die from freezing to death. You know, one of the many ways that ALL their cats cruelly suffer to death from their candy-coating term of "attrition".(Road-ki ll, environmental poisons, cat and animal attacks, dehydration, starvation, exposure, communicable diseases, etc., etc., on ad-infinauseum. Average lifespan of a TNR'ed cat is only 2 years because ALL their cats slowly suffer to death this way.)

How many years in prison do you think they all deserve?

I'd start at the minimum of 150.

Good point...although I do not advocate putting people in prison for their treatment of animals. It seems to me that the punishment is far fare more destructive to society than the "crime."

I'm only trying to figure out how to stop them from letting their cats roam free. I figure as long as they are in prison for life, they'll have no access to cats to re-release them. I'm tired of shooting cats. Just this week I spotted two more that some criminally-irresponsible neighbor released. My land so-far had been cat-free after shooting hundreds of them a year ago. Shot one of the new ones. Now I have to be vigilant keeping an eye out for the one that ran off before I could shoot it. It'll be back, and meet a bullet. But when? Need to cut off the source. Put all cat-advocates in prison for life. Seems to be the ONLY real solution these days.
