No charges have been filed yet against a 31-year-old Southgate police officer who was arrested Oct. via Heritage Newspapers

Southgate's administration recently set a new precedent for wrong-doing by public employees. If you are caught doing something wrong you will get a two-week vacation. But you will probably get it paid if you are going through a divorce and are having a rough time with it. So if this cop tells the administration that he is just thinking about a divorce he will be able to enjoy his two week vacation. Then back to work as normal.

Hey Scott, its funny how you describe the officer’s actions while OFF DUTY. You yourself write it was "wrong doing". Should "wrong doing" OUTSIDE his work place elicit such a back lash from you? Hey Scott, does your employer require you report to them what happens to you while you are on your own time? I bet not! My point is that anything a police officer does off duty will make the paper and public knowledge. That is because police are supposedly held to a higher standard than everyone else. But when it comes to PAYING the officer the higher standard you balk at that. I bet.

He made a mistake, he is only human, I am sure what happened is something he has a huge regret on. At least he was a little smart to pullover, then stay on the road like many do, and if you read the storys, he did not get any break on this.
