I'd come to her store anytime. Don't see anything wrong with it. I'm sorry but we all don't live in a Christian nation where we think "no sex before marriage". Majority of people do have sex. If this woman is going to help other women open up to their partner, boyfriend or lover and even possibly save a marriage from some tips or by recommending a few products to try, is that so bad?

Why does everyone get their panties in a bunch about everything no adays?

More power to you! Keep your head held high - you should be allowed to sell anything you want - if people don't like it then they do not have to go in your store!

I couldn't have said it better myself.

There are a lot of novelty stores around and she has nothing to be ashamed of.

Good for her and I look forward to visiting her store.

Unbelieveable!! It's not like her store front displays naked women or men. If you don't approve, don't walk through the door. And the fact that it is right near a school, who cares...like I said the storefront display's nothing crude. As human we are sexual beings and she is simply trying to get people to be more comfortable with their sexuality...2 thumbs up!! As a health teacher, the topic of sex is the hardest to cover because kids are so embarrassed to discuss it. They've always been taught that it is dirty. I wish i could go to that town meeting and yell outside like those people do outside of this store!!

Could it be the good reverend's got his cassock in a twist because the shop requires its patrons to be older than eighteen?

Good for her. The religious right needs to learn to mind it's own business.

If you don't like the store, don't shop there. Simple as that.

Leave this woman's business alone. Aren't there more important issues to worry about?(i.e. the war in Iraq, impeaching an inept president, etc...)

I find it interesting that none of the previous 5 commenters live in West Chester. I do and have 2 young daughters. We frequent the area often. We stroll the streets and look in the windows visiting many of the stores. There are enough bad inflences in the world than to introduce more. Having not yet seen the store, depending on how it is presented we may wind up avoiding West Chester. If many of the families with young kids avoid West Chester the feel and tone of the town will change. This is the very point of the movie Its A Wonderful Life. West Chester can do without this influence. For those that need it there are other ways to get their fix.

Actually I do, for some reason my address is not showing up correctly. Why would I care if I really lived in TN?

You go girl....in fact, now that I've seen the article, my curiousity will take me to your store in the next few days! Can't wait to see!
My take on this issue - you can walk by, or stop in to shop - it's your choice. Isn't democracy all about having a choice?

Seems to me, the bad influence in your girl's lives is probably YOU. Stop being so narrow-minded. You haven't even seen the store, and you're already judging it as a bad influence.
I work in West Chester - there are other shops selling items that deal with sex and sexuality. What do you do when you're in the grocery store or a pharmacy and your girls see condoms and lubricants? Do you avoid those aisles? Do you shield their eyes? Are you one of those prudish parents who regard sex as dirty and will never discuss it with your children? Do your children a favor and stop sheltering them from what you deem as the "bad influences" in the world." That's how you make weak children who grow-up to become weak adults, unable to make an independent decision about anything because mom and pop spoon fed the world to them after picking out all the unpleasant bits.

As for the shop, I think its great!! I've been in it. Its tasteful, and it caters to women which there aren't enough shops doing that.

What is the big deal. The store front is harmless. What are they doing that is so "wrong"? If the store helps women and can help marriages, isn't that what is important. In case everyone forgot but we are sexual creatures, both for procreation and pleasure. This is how we all got here. Do you all feel the same way when at the mall and you pass by Victoria's Secret???

She has opened a store that should allow some to explore life in a safe and fun environment. If I lived in that town I would shop there. My marriage is important to me and I want to keep it interesting. Yes, conversation is good but sometimes you need alittle extra.

I forgot something...If this is bad hey take a look at Victoria's Secret they show Bras and Panties on TV and your kids see it when they go to the mall. Only difference there is they can go in Victoria's Secret. Her store is harmless. However the what your neighbors believe is harmful. No one should ever hide themselves.

I can understand the negative reaction from all parties if the store is advertised as a sex shop....If Ms.McDevitt is selling items to underaged individuals. However iF she was permitted to open the business with rules attached...and she is abiding the Laws then those who have thier beliefs should understand this is America and to each his/her own beliefs...Shop where you feel comfortable.Amen!

I think its great! I have wanted to open a shop like this one in this area. Its called America its called free interprise. If the residents in the area can have their churchs then why cant someone open a legal buisness. If we let religion dictate everything it will destroy this country. I support Jill this is what America is all about freedom sometimes we have to fight for freedom that is what makes American great go buy some lube people! You just might like it!
