[my opinion]

How is everyone's garden doing? I'm making dilly beans, canning squash and beans. Can't wait till the tomatoes ripen!

I haven't waited! I have made several meals of fried green tomatoes. I had to hire someone to clean mine out the other day. Except for the weeds, it's doing fine. Have you found anything out about your shoulder?

I went to the doctor...he didn't seem too concerned. He's not the one in agony! He told me to get an x-ray. I didn't go, didn't have time....was in the shower the other night, trying to wash my hair. Got my arm in a bind, and my shoulder joint "popped". It still hurts, but I do have more movement now. I think it was dislocated.

i am sorry (my opinion) i bet that does hert. my back has been hurting for 6 years and still nothing has helped.

I had back surgery 5 years ago. It did not help. My right side is numb, but still hurts. Does that make sense? I think once you mess up your back, that's pretty much it. You're pretty young to be in so much pain. That's rough. I'm getting old...golden years my butt!

I think more likely your shoulder has frozen up. I have been through this and have a friend right now going through physical therapy for hers.She has gone for 2 wks. now and has some movement [range of motion] back in her shoulder. You need to get that X-ray.
You will have to save me a jar of dilly beans. What are they? Like pickled beans?[YUM!]

Why did they have to do surgery on your back?

Four wheeler mishap...looking for a cow and calf, almost went over a cliff backwards, mud, you get the picture. I got off the thing and tried to pull it back onto the path. Blew a disc...it bulged into the nerve. Talk about pain..I thought I would die. Then it went numb and that's been 5 years ago. It's numb, but super sensitive. I can't wear a shoe with a back on it. That's fun with snow on the ground. Bee sting sensations up and down my leg....the list goes on and on...

Quick question...I don't know if this has been asked and answered but I have everything ready to go now and don't have time to read through the thread....Can you use a hot water bath for canning green beans? I do not have a pressure canner. I read on one site that she uses a water bath but they most be at a rolling boil for 3 hours. Obviously they must have used this method before pressure canners right? If I can't I guess I could pickle them, but I prefer not to. Thanks!

yes you can here is a few tips for yea.. hope it helps If the boiling water does not come over the tops of the jars by at least one inch, add more boiling water to accomplish this. The finished product being lifted to a folded dry towel to cool and seal. The jar lifter prevents burns. Always use the wire rack of your canning kettle, as the boiling water must circulate well under, over, and between jars. The wire rack will also prevent overheating (and possible cracking) of the jar bottoms and will keep the jars from bumping together while processing, which might result in breakage. Always check the seal as you store the jars. Each jar lid should be indented in the center, having no give as you gently press down with a finger. If it makes a noise on pressure, or if it can be moved downward, it is not sealed and must either be reprocessed with a new lid or eaten soon. When canning tomatoes or tomato products, use “regular” high-acid tomatoes, not low-acid tomato varieties. If unsure—for instance if you bought them at a farm market—add two tablespoons of lemon juice or ½ tsp. citric acid (vitamin C) to each quart to ensure the product is acid enough not to spoil. Neither product affects the taste a bit and only increases the nutritional value.
Don’t try to double recipes or otherwise alter them. You may run into trouble, especially if inexperienced.
Always be careful of steam and hot jars as they can burn you. Lift canner lid away from you to allow steam to escape safely, away from your face.

I'm sure if doctor's felt like we do sometimes,they would have a morphine pump!I went to my doctor once and had to see another doctor in his office,which I had no problem with;until he suggested I needed Christ more in my life!?!? He didn't know me from Adam and presumed to judge me?I didn't realize a shot of Toradol in my lower back made me a SINNER!?!?:)I changed Dr.'s after that little ordeal and the Dr. I see now is wonderful;but not a mind reader.When I go for a checkup make a list of everything I need to talk about,cause I can't remember anything!I was told "I'll help you if you'll help me understand what's bothering you." The squeaky wheel gets the grease,so you might need to "squeak" a little more and get better.If you don't take charge of your health,who will?

My hubby's having problems right now, and I'm calling a new doctor for him Monday. Took him with me last Thursday. He looks pale, no energy, feels terrible. Doc raised his blood sugar meds, and he hasn't felt well since.

Google water bath canning green beans. Some say they've done it forever, some say it isn't safe. Just follow directions, and be sure to check they're sealed before you eat them.

i need to find me a new doctor fox and i must have went to the same one because they talk religion all the time to me. i am tired of my mom calling my doctors and telling them i do things i am not suppose to when all i do is take care of my family. any good suggestions on who is a good doctor in this town or out of this town at this point.

J.P., aren't you a grown woman? Why is your mom calling your drs.? Is she trying to "help" you? You need to politely tell her to butt out. What goes on between you and your dr. should be private! If she doesn't stop calling them, it won't matter if you change drs. or not. She will just call your "new" one.:( DON'T LET HER KNOW WHO YOUR DR. IS!!![That way she CAN'T call them.]

You may not need a new doctor ; just tell your mom to butt out! Unless you signed a paper stating that she can discuss your health problems with your Dr. that's a breech of Dr./ patient confidentiality. If you did sign a paper , request to change it when you go back to the Dr. Your mom might mean well but you are responsible for your own health care , not her. Hope this helps....

I hate to hear your hubby isn't feeling well ; a new Dr. sounds like a good idea. Hope he finds one that will get him back on track ; when you go to the Dr. and feel worse that's the most frustrating feeling. Let us know how things go.

she calls the doctor to get me in trouble saying i am doing things with my pills that i should not know i have to take a drug test and bottle count for my zanex. i use to get pain meds till she called them and becasue i was one short from taking 2 one day they stoped them. know my back is killing me and nothing i can do. she does not have rights to call my doctor but sense she thinks she can rule my life she tryes and they belive her. i passed my drug test not a prouble. and my bottle count on zanex but the point that they will belive her makes me mad.

As long as you have health and life insurance give the water bath a try! If you are a Christian I hope you are saved.
