I kind of liked it, My daughter's girl scout group went there and it seemed fine. But I have gotten comments of different people saying it's innapropriate, Like dancing to sexy songs (I've hear Im a slave 4 you, and Like a Virgin) I also Heard comments and pictures of the girls wearing "Bra like" costumes, not the kind of Costumes I'd let my kids wear. I for one would not let my children dance here, but I do like their "clean" dances. To rate it I give it a 5/10.

Unprofessional business.

After seeing the recital two years ago I refused to let my daugther go back there. The dances were very sexual and innapropriate, as well as the costumes and the music had sexually explicit lyrics.
I can't believe there are parents who actually allow their children to dance for this studio.
VERY UNPROFESSIONAL BUSINESS!! >:(

I would bet that the first review of this business is the studios owner as there is NO WAY it is the best or professional in any way, shape or form.
My children dance competively for a studio who competes against this studio at various competitions throughout the year and this studio is by far the most vulgar, disgusting studio out there. Costumes are innapropriate. Music is distastful and most of the dances are raunchy.
Feel free to look up some of the competitions this studio has competed in and you will rarely find one of their numbers in the overall award standings.
We have watched the same dancers year after year and they do not get any better and the owner sometimes lies about the dancers ages so that they can compete in younger catagories...why, because they are not good enough to compete in their own age catagory.
Ironically their competition team seems to be shrinking in numbers more and more as the years go by. I think there were like 9 dancers this year in comparison to the 18-20 from two to three years ago. Hmmmm...I wonder why?

I live in Manteca and would never take my girls to this studio. The only thing your children will learn to do at this studio is shake their bottom and grind their hips. Half the classes are taught by children...yes...children. 12-15 yr. olds. Probably the same children whose ages are being lied about so they can compete with younger dancers at competitions. So much for the owners motto about being a professional studio, taught by professional teachers.
If you live in the Manteca area and are looking for a dance studio for your children, my recomendation would be to try either Triple Threat in Tracy or 5678 in Modesto. They are both only a 20 min. car ride from Manteca and your children will actually learn REAL dancing like tap, jazz and lyrical and ballet.
Take them to Dance and Cheer Stars and they will learn how to dirty dance.

The owner of this studio has been sued in the past, so I would be very careful about enrolling my child there

I have seen this studio compete before and their costumes are very revealing and their dances are very innapropriate.
One time when this studio had a dance team on stage, we heard the men behind us say that they would not have to go home and look up porn on the computer because they were looking at Dance Stars porn right in front of them. EWWWWWW!:(

This studio is no different than any other in terms of costumes and music. My daughter has become a very competent competitive dancer at Dance and Cheer Stars.

Really?
This is the ONLY studio that I have seen perform at competitions throughout the bay area and central valley who allowed 4-5 year olds to dance around a bed in daisy duke shorts and bra type tops to the song Papa Don't Preach, or who had young teenage girls dancing to Hanky Panky and Don't Cha.
My 5yr. old danced to Hakuna Matata and wore an animal print dress that covered everything from neck to knee and Somewhere Over the Rainbow wearing a full leotard/tutu.
My teenager danced to Swing wearing a full striped pant suit and True Colors wearing a dress that covered from neck to knee

I just took my daughter there for the first time and she is 2 yrs old. Not impressed at all! she will not be going back, they do not have adults teaching these little girls who are babie by the way. One of the instructors by the way has a terrible attitude.I witnessed her mistreat some of the children my self. My baby was terrified of her. on top of it all they do not allow you to go in the studio with your child. not ok with the set up.

Called this studio to ask about the Creative Movement class for itty bitty's and was told by the woman that answered the phone that ALL of the teachers are professional and accredited dancers.
Was going to try the class until my girlfriend told me that most of the classes are taught by very young teenage girls. How can very young teenage girls be professional and accredited dancers?
I checked out their webpage at www.danceandcheerstars.com myself just to verify and sure enough, most of the pictures on the staff page are young teenage girls.
Think I'll be taking my daughter to a studio that actually does have adults teaching the classes.

I've been trying to get my daughter out of this studio for 3 years!! However, my daughters mother(we aren't together) see's nothing wrong with this studio. My concerns started 3 years ago when I went to a performance at Ripon Christian were the competition gils were dressed in bra like outfits with lace dancing around a bed on stage to the song pappa don't preach!!! This is where the problems began. my daughter joined the competition dance the following year by her mother without my consent. I then took her mother back to court to remove my daughter from that environment. The Dance owner then made false allegations that I called my daughter a whore and wrote a letter to the judge because I wanted her removed from her studio. This past weekend dance and cheer stars Miss Harmony commented on my daughters post on facebook regarding a local high school nominations for princess. This is what she wrote " OMG...Cakes! there was a group of hookers there! the first girl that got introduced...her and her 3 hookers! SO NASTY...
Keep in mind this is a 30 year old woman that made these comments regarding a 15 year old child and her 3 high school friends. This child was also one of my daughters facebook friends!! Can you say CYBER BULLYING!!!
In a final note... do we need to dress or children in provocative outfits dancing to distasteful music for them to get attention? I think NOT!!!! Maybe she will sue me for the true statements that I have posted??? If so BRING IT

Have to say that three of my children have been dancing at cheering at this studio over the last seven years. They have grown up there. Some of these complaints aren't new and usually only a handful of people who complain but then smile at the owners never once expressing their concerns. Some of these complaints are also things seen at other studios and competitions all over the country. A group of mom bloggers stirred up concerns that went viral over a video of another dance studio in another part of the US that went viral. Like I said, the complaints are not new and at least in our studios most of the complaints are never verbalized to the owners.
I have found over the seven years we have done business with Dance and Cheer Stars that if we have a problem with policy, with costumes, with teachers we can address them with the owners with a civilized dialogue where we have reached solutions to our satisfaction as parents and paying customers. Whining and complaining on internet consumer rating sites is not the way to go.
At the competition this weekend, "Very Concerned Father" showed up full of threats and intimidation reducing his child and several other dancers...CHILDREN, NOT HIS CHILDREN, to tears. These kids were sick with fear, genuine fear over "Very Concerned Father" attempting to make good on promises (threats) he made to go back stage and drag his child off. Witnesses saw him trying to sneak backstage to areas where ONLY dancers (CHILDREN), studio owners and teachers are allowed to be. Thankfully, the security at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts in Reno was doing their job as were the competition officials and had "Very Concerned Father" escorted out. I appreciate your concerns as a parent but your behavior is frightening to the children at this studio and unacceptable and intolerable by reasonable parents. You are intimidating and frightening other people's children. SHAME ON YOU!!!! Why don't you behave like a grown up, like a truly concerned father and address these concerns in a more civilized way. Make good on your threats and take the studio to court, take your ex-wife and child to court and get a restraining order against the studio but stop with your bullying and intimidation of your ex-wife, your child and the studio staff as well as the other children who attend this studio, who are your daughter's friends and who are genuinely AFRAID OF YOU and your behavior around the studio when your child is there and now your behavior at dance competitions in other cities.

I have been dancing at this studio for over 8 years now, and I can say most of these are false. The little girls dancing to Papa Don't preach were ages 7-10, and were not wearing bra tops, they had full tops, only the 15+ girls had more revealing tops. We offer all styles of dance, and we do no "inappropriate moves" like grinding our hips. And to the person who said we hardly win overalls, we win them every competition, get golds or higher, and get many judges awards (for best costume and choreography) so obviously, the judges have no problem with our dances.

And to the people saying it is not professional? The owner was a Raiderette, the ballet teacher was a Gold Rush 49er cheerleader, the jazz and hip hop teachers are BOTH Raiderettes, a girl who used to compete is currently a Gold Rush 49ers cheerleader, and another was a Kings' Royal Dancer, and a girl who recently switched to our studio is auditioning to be a San Diego Chargers Cheerleader. Definitely not professional, okay.

There is a whole group of dancers who live in Manteca, but choose to commute to the Triple Threat and Performing Arts Dance Studio in Tracy/Livermore! If Dance Stars was as GREAT as they claim to be, don't you think these dancers would be going there instead?
