Thank you Stacey. Now Dr. Marshall will insist class sizes will not increase and claim there really is no reason not to merge.

There are no economies of scale, this endeavor will cost Lburg taxpayers an extra 1-2 million a year and what was previously stated by the Lburg RPC as no transition costs is turning out to be 1-2 million.

They did the exact same thing with the AYS deal and then sabotaged it.

This process sorely needs an audit.

Maybe State Rep Benson can step in.

Don't worry, Stacey. This idea is going nowhere. Not that residents didn't state that repeatedly from the get-go. However, residents' rejection of this merger proposal fell on the deaf ears of the good doctor and those sycophants on the school committee who endorse Marshall's every proposal. Now, even they must face reality, and here we are...over a year later and no Plan B in sight (for what was declared an "urgent" situation to address the high school's heating system, etc., etc.) Funny how they can afford to sit on their hands and wait for the state, Lunenburg, ANYONE to bail them out.

This was a clever scheme by the good doctor to expand the Marshall empire and jack her salary up a few notches (just an "incidental benefit" of such a proposal). The real problem is that there is no way to sustain an expanded district when administrative and staff expenses increase, transportation costs increase, etc. and state funding for regional districts decreases. It's basic math. Great--save money in building one high school, but, then...how the he** do you afford to staff it and sustain funding it?

Thank you to those members of the NMRSD school committee who endorsed yet another "exploration" of a Marshall idea (ELT, International Baccalaureate, the highly touted proposal to bring Mason, NH students to NM, etc.) which yielded NOTHING to improve the quality of education in NM.

NMRSD is notorious for having ineffective leadership and a three town idiocracy which allows it. Please, save Lunenburg from such a merger.

Dr. Maureen Marshall would gladly do an audit for you after she is finished getting her hair done.

Take a nice school system serving a fine community and mix it up with the rag tag NMSD district-poorly managed, one of the lowest on the professional salary scale, having less than desirable test scores and you have created another mess. Lunenburgians should revolt.
