Exactly, he was a shill, nothing more. Thankfully there will be more letters.

We actually thought we were through with the Gallo nonsense and now his family takes over on his behalf. Must be collecting something from the union to further their cause.

Will we ever just be able to take a break from the union garbage?

Gallo is like Freddie...he just keeps coming back like in a bad nightmare.

Mr Gallo was definitely a one-dimensional man. Union = good, non-Union = bad.

While I disagreed with his statements nearly 100% of the time, it was entertaining to read his letters.

The word on the street is that Mr.Gallo has stockpiled a few hundred "Letters to the Editor" in a time capsule to be released on a staggered basis in future years.

What classless, small people you are. You probably kick puppies too.
My dad was a better person than any of you could ever hope to be.

Tina, your father molded his own life and was a controversial figure whom many people disagreed with, especially his pro-union positions. His supporters seem to be mostly teachers and public service employees which is understandable. He also had a habit of voluminous "Letters to the Editor" and not responding very openly to rebuttals, for whatever reason. I did meet him at the City hall Cafe and he is a very nice old curmudgeon but very focused on a singular issue not giving much credence to other opposing positions. Additionally, I do not really think the posters are totally classless as your Dad did bring much of this on himself. He seemed to be a very good person and God rest his soul.

Your dad was a one trick pony.

Tina,
I don't know you or your father but I know one thing: you're the ONLY person commenting who has the guts to put their name up there. Ignore the people who make nasty comments about your dad while they hide behind an anonymous computer. They are bullies who don't have the class not to speak ill of the dead. Don't engage them, ignore them. It always comes back to all the small, petty, classless, clueless bullies out there. If your father was a public figure he draws scrutiny, which is fine. But to anonymously comment to his daughter behind a computer on Christmas shortly after he died? Ignorant, petty, stupid, COWARDS & BULLIES.

Tina,

I have to agree with Lunenburg with regard to the posting of my actual name. I used to post with my name and found that people started attacking my family and friends with nasty writing because enough information is out there to find out. Your Father NEVER responded to any posts or rebuttals to anything he wrote in the paper and continually stirred the negative sentiments from many regarding unions.

Things may have been different if he had actually entertained appropriate discussion and discourse about the subject, but he had no intention of discussing it. No argument is that one-sided and there is always some room for compromise...too bad your Dad didn't understand that.
