This whole scene keeps getting weirder, particularly when it's (supposed) adults playing a game that teens play. Should have been settled by the two players instead of dragging the town through the mud and wasting its money and time.

The teens know what games to play and we should be paying attention to them! All of the winter teams at GDRHS made it into the post-season. The boys hockey team is undefeated at 20-0-1 and is playing for the Central MA Championship next Monday. Funny how these teens can be successful at staying focused on their sports and studies even with teen "distractions" while some adults are failures. The kids' achievements should be getting the headlines rather than the print about adults' affairs. Happy and proud to have my tax dollars going to the schools!

Briefly. Meghan Volpe tried for several weeks to meet with the BoS in closed session - they didn't respond. They had a press conference without even talking or meeting with her, and the town manager had an opportunity to issue his statement. The first person to talk with her, face-to-face and see all of her evidence, was the private investigator. The BoS still have not met with her. Nobody knows the names of the two women in Cohasset who charged Mark Haddad with sexual harassment - the town officials protected them, their families, and their names. And the Groton BoS did what?

Pam C: Sounds like Cohasst is the classy town that it is. If what you write is true, then the Groton BOS definitely follows a pattern of protecting men and not women. Remember their dealings with Sgt. Cathi Welch, and the Town Hall worker who embezzled money? The BOS and TM have had no problem smoothing-over (wink-wink) the infractions/crimes made by male employees (water dept. tech). Yet they handle cases involving females(employees or not)with a heavy hand with no talk of a "second chance" or at an attempt to be understanding.

Just read the first few posts in this thread from 2008. If the comments are true, it boggles my mind how Haddad continues to demonstrate poor personal behaviors. What's troubling is that he keeps getting the proverbial second chance whenever he gets a new job. What is even more disturbing is that the Groton BOS acknowledged his guilt yet refused to fire him. They wore blinders by ignoring the red flags and hiring him. They continue to wear them now. Was this to "save face" and not admit to poor judgement of character?

Just wondering....what kind of deal was struck? Was the town facing a lawsuit if it fired him? If there's a lawsuit from the victim, could the town be included as a defendant? Seems like it's stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Bottom line: taxpayers' money being spent in the wrong places. Stop by the local hang-outs and you'll hear the buzz from disgruntled townies.

Let's just say, things are not what they seem.

Oh I would not give up yet. Rumor has it that a report outlining more emails will emerge next week. I don't think the extra large diva has sung yet.

You really need to get a life. You appear to be obsessed with Haddad. He is not worth it. Move on.

Followed-up on your suggestion and this Suso guy is another piece of work. Sometimes, in some towns, the cream does not rise to the top. When are town elections? ;)

Oh boy - it looks like Haddad has been up to no good again...thegrotonline.com has an article about some mean messages sent to the victim during the investigation. I'm sure the selectman will just ignore it lol

Yep, the thread tarted in 2008 - he has had jobs in four towns since then - Cohasset, MA, Jamestown, RI, Stratford, CT and Groton, MA. Been moving fast, hasn't he!!
